Minus 2C here in Stockport, dry as a lime grinders clog, high pressure for the next five days means we are really chilling here in good old Blighty.
Got up this morning another year older and just as daft.
Bad news yesterday, the ex. Mrs B the second has been struck down, had two strokes, paralysed down LHS and speech affected, I'm very sad. She's a good woman, nursed me through a near fatal illness a few years ago even though we had parted.
Started to clear space in my bedroom for the A&SVRR.
Dear Lady is taking me to the Hare & Hounds at Luzley (Dennis W!) for lunch, then some light duty shopping, think I'll treat the car to a bath!
Put a string of fairy lights in the lounge window last night (mustn't overdo the ostensive) might switch them on in a day or two.

We use a self decramminating gudget with concentric flanges for digging up turnips, if it is driven anticlockwise with a bunsen burner fitted to the exhaust? The turnips are ready to eat by the time one gets home.

Thanks for letting us know about Steve, John. I was wondering how he was doing. He did seem to be more energetic than expected for a while. Condolences to his family.

I don't know if anyone has posted it on this thread, but Gil fin (Steve Frame) passed away on Monday. He posted on this forum at one time.

The Charleston Gazette - Obituaries
That is a sad thing to hear. Someone asked about him just yesterday and it appears that his last post was a month ago, but he was on line that very day. It had to have been a family member checking up.

He had some brave and valiant battles, and although this was not unexpected, it is still very sad. He and his family will be in our prayers.

Thank you for posting this.

'Morning from a icy and grey Crystal Lake - congrats on the day off, Laz!
I'm sorry to hear about Steve, and about your ex, John. I think that lifetime license is a tremendously thoughtful gift.

I don't think I've ever had a turnip? What's it taste like?

Jonadel - Great video of your layout. I loved it. :thumb:

Here is a pic that Gil would have loved as he was great at kitbasing engines.

Good Morning.............
It's a nasty, cold, rainy, morning. 34 degrees. This should be snow. Going up to 44 today, with rain stopping.
Sorry to hear about Steve Frame. He had been suffering for a long time. His family is in our prayers.
Usual chores today. Maybe train time.
Everyone have a nice day.

Chief if your check out cameras, make sure you look at the Rebel !! I think John F, has one. If I could that's what I would get !!!

Don, among the many problems of old age, is a loss of memory. I have a Nikon D40, which I love. The newer version of that is the D40X which is pretty much the same camera except better resolution.

I took a break from the roof work, nerves get to me and the liquid nails needs a chance to set up now and then.

Here are a couple of in progress dollhouse pictures.

The plastic clips are holding a 1/8" X 1/4" bass wood strip to the roof edges as a spacer for the shingle overhang. The good part is that the shingles go faster the further up you go as there are more whole ones compared to cuts. I started this project on Oct 10th and it is pushing to get it done for Christmas. Then to, the older I get the slower I get.

Weather here is as predicted, icicles hanging on all the trees and Christmas light strings. The good part is that Son picked Jean up and took her to the office, saving me that chore. :thumb: The bookkeeper called in for the day off, she has the nickname of Suzy Snowflake because she takes off at the first hint of snow, sleet or freezing rain.

Well back to roof work.

Very sorry to hear of Gil Finn's passing. I remember him as a regular fixture on OGR -a very nice fellow with a good sense of humor. Praying for his family in their loss.

Not as warm today, but still overcast. A cold front is on the way and our weather will change drastically, getting much colder. Hopefully we'll get some rain with the front.

Finished Christmas shopping for my wife - new digital camera, a clothes steamer she's been wanting, and some clothes.

Hope you all are having a good day!

Afternoon from Town Hall. Was going to post as soon as I got here but got busy. Got office arranged [new big desk and chairs] and pictures and awards hung. Got couch coming [for naps ]. Got to go to Raleigh soon. Thanks for the tip on cameras. Might do some trains before I go to Raleigh. Can do that while I "pee the boys". Meeting wife at the big mall this afternoon to do TV and camera. No rain as promised. Sun is out. Was chilly this AM but warmed above the forecasted high.

Dr John - I think you are right! Chief could call meetings in the office and when the go too long just start up the BB and smoke the rascals out!

Jon - I was pushing that a little for humorous effect, but I was really proud of my boy. He has actually learned a lot, starting from nothing really, and also was a big hit! It was a little hard to sit through the first band (older kids), but I found I perked up a bit once my boy was onstage!

John Baker - bday1balloon6aussie

Laz - conga on the day off! Remember Ferengi Rule #1: It never hurts to suck up to the boss!

Yes - it looks great! I thought I mentioned that before, but looked at my last post and nothing, guess I'm just tired today!
