As much as I love "S" scale, I don't have the time or patience to assemble the equpment required in a minority scale/time period. On30 provides the equipment and allows more time for layout building even though it isn't the era I would like to be modeling, the 1870's. It is still wooden cars and iron men of the nineteenth century.

Too bad there wasn't the HO equipment to be converted to Sn3.5 twenty-five years ago. Model railroading equipment was truely dreadful in the mid-1980's. At this point in my life I had to realize I am "racing the reaper". If I want the layout to be done On30 is great. On30 has always been fun. The Sn3.5 provided me with the 1870's but is too time intensive in the equipment area.

I know that feeling!, I've stopped racing ( too old to run ), but I do leave a trail of old oil behind, in hopes that Reaper will slip and fall occasionally, buying me a minute or two more time! :mrgreen::mrgreen:
