I was given permission by the creator, Claudio Diaz, to post this model on your forum. It's a highly detailed model of the 1966 Batmobile. He's asked that I post 2 links to his stuff at the bottom of this post. I'm working on getting permission to post the extremely detailed bridge from the original Star Trek TV show as well as the 2 part phaser and communicator. I'm told others are working on a tricorder model. I've got literally 5+ gigs of downloaded paper models... any requests???

Ok, I've tried 3 times to manage attachments and attach the zip file for the batmobile and I keep getting an error... it's well under the zip file size limit... now what?

What are you trying to do exactly? If you are trying to upload the batmobile to our downloads section, and have Claudio's permission to do so, then you'll need to contact cgutzmer (An Admin on this forum) for help, if the file is over 2MB in size. If it is under 2 MB then you can upload it to the downloads section where it will be placed in a moderation queue until approved by a moderator.

You do not need permission from a designer to post pictures of a finished model, but I'm pretty sure that's not what you're trying to do.

If you like, you could post a link in the "Internet Finds" section of this forum to the download page of the model.

Coincidentally, Claudio is a member of this forum and is about to start a collaborative project with Skip, (who also designs Enterprise bridges I might add) to fill the "missing links" in the card model batmobile collection.

Nice work on the Batmobile by the way, Claudio's tumbler is next on my list, right after I finish his Mad Max Interceptor.

Well, I'm kinda new to this and have received some help from a few of the members regarding posts. I did notice a link in here to the batmobile model just after posting it in the downloads section. I'll pay a little more attention and do some searching in here before requesting permissions and posting... I was unaware of Claudio being a member of the forum but that's ok, I'm still new. I'm currently looking for any instructions to build the Vinicio Munoz Jupiter 2... the most detailed version I've found to date... I'll be doing a search in here for that right now, but any other help would be appreciated...

We should have a links directory here somewhere. It would help newbies find models they'd like. As you know jaffro, we don't have anywhere near all of the models available here in our downloads section.

It'd be handy. :)

I love that '66 'mobile. I remember being in total awe when I first saw it.

Oh, thanks for plugging the project! :)

Actually, I think I called it Zealots or something when I asked permission. Then, when I did a search to find the forum again, found the correct name... came full circle on that one...lol

I'll add that to the "to do" list as part of the forum restructure, any other suggestions are more than welcome in This Thread (Shameless plug combined with plea for feedback) :p

We seem to be adding quite a few as time goes by, I remember the first time I looked in there there wasn't much at all... the last time I looked a few days ago it's definitely changed a little :D Adding ALL the free models we could get our hands on would probably need to be agreed to by Peter, the site owner, as it would no doubt add to bandwidth/hosting costs with all the extra traffic.

Oh, thanks for plugging the project! :)

No problem, how's my tumbler cockpit coming along? :p

I just can't get my head around it. Too busy for now too. I'll ask Claudio for a copy of his mesh and see if I can get one in there. Just don't know if it'll be ready in time for you.

There is a rather large links directory in the rather underutilized WIKI - its too hard to keep that going without people that want to work on it.... it has great possibilities....

To be honest I'd forgotten about the wiki myself, I'll try to find a way to bring it out in the open more as part of the forum change.

Something like doing away with FAQ and tutorial forums by integrating them into the wiki and putting the wiki links in a more prominent place or places.

PS: Sorry about the thread hijack Aylwin, but in a way you've helped towards the improvement of the forum layout, so ahh... thanks :D

Oh and Skip, I was joking about the cockpit, you should know me better than that by now :p

I think i'll just be happy to do it at double size for now, I've got a feeling a good mate of mine will be stealing it off me when it's done, so if it works out ok I'll do a cockpit on the second one... at ahhhh... 1/6 scale or something. :D

You're very welcome jaffro... even tho I've downloaded a LOT of models, I'm still very new at assembling but have had some great success with the first ones I've tried... I'm working on the Santa House from Canon papercrafts... it's big and detailed and can't wait to get to some of the other models... I'm just glad I was able to find a forum like this one for questions, suggestions, posts, and finding hard to get models. By the way, does anyone know how I can get a paper model of the spaceship from forbidden planet? I've got robby the robot, but would like the ship too... I know polar lights made a kit, but due to fund limitations, would prefer a good quality paper one...

Jaffro, I knew you were joking. ;) Though I would like to try and do something with that someday. I've also been watching the film alot lately trying to get a handle on it.

It will be done, because I'd like to. AND because I know a part of you wasn't joking!! LOL ;)

LOL!! Well, you think you may end up doing two large Tumblers? Maybe I'll get to it in time for the second one?

Sorry for the thread hijack here. How did that happen?? The should be moderators to prevent that sort of thing. LOL :)
