Good Morning...............
It's cold outside. 20 degrees. Going up to a sunny 45, today.
I have some errand running today. Later, I will work on a couple of projects. Maybe run trains.
Outside decorations are finished. Just a few inside to put up. We don't get much company over the Holidays.
Everyone have a nice day,
Chuck

Sounds like we all need to roadtrip to Chucks!

Good Morning all.

Decided to move the inner loop run at right to the front from the back:

I think this lets me build a better scene on the left side with only one run at the back.

While it is getting there, I think the whole thing needs to be smoothed out - too many odd sized patches. As much as I want the broad curves at the back, for example, I also want longer straights.

There is a next step in this evolution . . .

Morning, all!

Frank, I like the track plan, particularly the broad curves. Looks like a good track to scenery ratio.

Will all the track be level or will you have any grades?

Hey Laz! Good luck on the deer hunting trip. Last night I saw half a dozen deer close to the house (does and little ones). The bucks stay in hiding.

Sorry to hear about those of you with troubles with the Atlas 0-6-0. I had considered buying one, but think I'll wait. Leaning toward the Railking Premiere 0-6-0 instead.

Nice weather here in Prattville. Sunny and cool - great day to be outdoors (which, unfortunately, I'm not!)

Good morning from a sunny and v. cold Crystal Lake where it is supposed to snow tomorrow eve. Middle boy wants to stay up watching the mailbox tonight...I may let him. Have some nice options for my yard I want to try out later today.

Kurt, you and anyone else is always welcome to visit if you come to Chicago - I work a block away from the Art Institute. That Latin motto is City in a Garden - refers to all the trees the current mayor likes to plant.

John, I am also reconfiguring Mt Seaman - lengthening it a bit and trying to strengthen it against any climbing felines. (John kindly sent my kids some 'real' coal a while ago so they could see what it was like.) I have it also strategically piled as slag on the layout.

Good Morning Everyone !! It seems to be running slow here for me for some reason.
Doug : glad you're making the mountain bigger !! Nothing like a huge mountain !! I think I made mine too big, I can't seem to get it done .

Well, Atas said to send my engine back as the tether should stay in place but I think I'll just figure a better way since everything else is working, plus it may be difficult to get it packed back in the box .

Great tools, popsicle sticks & construction paper !! .

Hope all have a nice day !!
Thanks, John

Good afternoon folks

It has been a crazy day thus far. Got into work and walked into one maelstrom after another. The afternoon looks like it will be more the same. If folks would only read specifications before they grant approvals life would be easier. All this happening while I am still fighting this cold.

It was 33 F as I rolled out of the driveway. They say it will reach 49 F but at lunch it was only 39 F. According to the weather hyper-uppers the end of civilization is coming on Sunday as we are supposed to get windy, snow, sleet, freezing rain, rain, plagues of locust, etc…….. The NWS has issued a Bread and Milk Panic Warning for all area groceries for the weekend. I see JELECTRIC is under a Winter Storm Watch.

We have the bi-weekly shopping adventure which means I will have to do battle with the bread and milk panic. We would like to get our Christmas tree and lock ourselves in the house during the wintry storm and decorate it.

On the layout I still need to add details to the Farm House Area and on the workbench I have grab irons to add to coil cars.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Afternoon. Back from DR and other errands. Got meds. Now time for chow and then gutters and leaves. Wife will want to fill the yard with Chirstmas lights [deer, angles and trees] tomorrow. No time for trains. OH, got new Trains magazine and didn't look at it last night. Was so sleepy. Later. Cough Cough

Chief - What is the name of the shrink you saw this morning? I want to write him a letter so he can help you get rid of that NS complex.

Train Show this Sunday in Springfield, Ohio at the Clark County Fairgrounds. Chief, I assume you will be there. I'll buy you lunch. aussie

I have been out doing some Christmas Shopping for our SIL. He is getting a new hard case for his golf clubs. He is an excellent golfer and played on the high school team. Laz - maybe we should set up a match with you and your brother the next time he and I are out east.

TomPM--
The sky is falling, at least that's what the weather guessers are saying is going to happen. Rain/sleet/hail/followed by snow and cold--white death is near. Perhaps it will stay in Missouri/Kansas along with the fire storms and earth quakes, hey---let's throw in a tornado for good measure! Since we've been gone since Tuesday I needed a few groceries late this morning so I made the trip in, glad I went early as it's going to get ugly with paranoia in a few hours. One can never have enough beer and chips for the impending storm :)

Woo Hoo! Last of Superstreets is in! I was reading all the doom and gloom and was getting worried...Looks like the Woodland Scenics foam roadbed will work nicely as vehicle roadways next to the Superstreets, width just needs to be trimmed a bit. Now, how do I get the kids back in the car after they have been in there all morning...

Mailed Christmas presents today! 3-presents Michigan to Minnesota $40. They may have to come get them next year. Remainder said they would come out to see the children, so we're holding their gifts hostage.

Hang in ther all you sickies! Better to have a cold now than in a few weeks. Prayers for you speedy recovery(ies)!

I was appalled that the CBS nightly news waited to the end of the program to blow by the Amtrak wreck. Very poor editing the news. Just like the Raleigh News and Observer reporter who screwed up an article and I reported to the County Commissioners that it was PPR. Piss Poor Reporting. He now says I am coarse and crude. Everyone else thought it was funny and right on. What did he do. Ran the article again and corrected his mistakes and then wanted to blame me. We are laughing. Now wonder their subscriptions are off. Well, CBS is PPR. No wonder it is number 3.

Dr, John,
I highly recomend that decision. I have a Railking B-6 0-6-0 and it has better sound, better smoke & the tether doesn't fall out. Detiails are not as nice but then it cost a lot less too. Guess I shouldn't have jumped at ordering one of these without seeing and hearing it first. I have always liked the Atlas freight cars and have a bunch of them. Also have 4 Atlas diesels which are great. Think their next steamer may benifit from the mistakes on this one.

Frank53,
I may be confused, which edge is the front of your layout. I thought it was the bottom, but from your recent post it sounds like the front may be the right side of the drawing. Which?

Well had two Dr. apointments today. Eye doctor said all A-OK. He checks once a year for Glaucoma as my dad had this bad and it is hereditory. Family doctor wants me to have a colonoscopy, ugh  . I said, after the holidays. :thumb:

CSXT30, Helped me out with the 0-6-0. Now it runs great & everything works. Sound could be louder, think I will tinker with the settings for the chuff rate now that it is working.

RT, Loved those deer pictures, but I think Laz was gone for the weekend when you posted them.

We had a fire about 400 yards from my house today. A building at the next corner that used to be a service station about 50 years ago and was now used to store the owners cars. Don't know what happened, heard a lot of rumors, but will wait to see what the official verdict is.
