Havn't been here that long, but I had grown accustomed to the weather reports and the fantastic photos. Hope he makes a fast and full recovery.

Wishing all the best !

Hi All, So this is where everyone is hanging out. Thanks for the invite Brutus & Chief.
Hope everyone has recovered from all that turkey.
Have the day off today. Painting the ceiling in the gamesroom.
I will emerge later with a light coating of white emulsion. LOL

Welcome Nick, What we lack in numbers we will compensate with quality.:welcome1:
Gritters were out in force last night, now black as your grandfathers and chucking it down.

Good Morning..........
It is a cold 19 degrees. Sun is coming up. Going up to 43 today with clouds.
Today I will be testing out the Christmas lights and replacing bad bulbs. I may put up a couple of strings. The rest tomorrow. No time for trains today.
Everyone have a nice day,
Chuck

Good morning.

Too much real work and not enough time for important stuff like building my layout.

Good Morning All from NE Ohio
where the temp is 30 deg and some areas just south of us ( 1 to 2 miles) is very White (3 to 6" of it)!

We had a mild success with our open house yesterday, The trunout was a little lower than I hoped, but with the weather and being the first one, it was good.

Morning all. Tom, wait until next weekend. December will turn them on. Bet it gets busier the closer to Christmas it gets. Turned real cold [upper 20's and coldest this fall]. I got big turnips in spite of the drought. Actually the garden has a way of holding moisture. I think it is all the mulch I have added over the years. Guess I will run to Miss Edna's [Todd's] and then back. BTW: wife says she sees Thanksgiving all over the place. Need to decorate for Chirstmas. But I just put the tubs under the layout! wall1 Chuck, don't mention drop cords. Wife has added another yard light. Got my wave "down pat" for the Roseyville Chirstmas Parade Sunday week. Have a good one.

Hi Folks

Just got back from Wallyworld. Found an XKE and an Alfa roadster to add to the layout. Yes, I am in HO. The layout is around the walls with three larger areas. I am using the Bachmann nickel silver EZ track.

The downtown area is mostly complete although I plan on adding sidewalks later. It features a number of kits from Walthers and others. The highlights are the police station, (LL) Ford/AMC dealership, and a Dominos.

With the dealership I am induging my passion for muscle cars. On the lot are Mustangs, 50s and 60s Chevys and a GTX convertable. As money permits I am going to replace some of the cheaper plastic vehicles on other parts of the layout.

The Dominos was an easy project as i work for them. A store magnet supplied the sign for an unused building. A store ad provided window signs.

Right now I am running the whole thing off one power pack, a Railpower. I plan on blocking the layout once I learn how. As you can see, i am still a novice. This is my fourth attempt at a layout and the first one that I am happy with.

Hope i am not boring anyone John

Morning y'all!
Chief, is your wave one of the royals type with the cupped hand and twist back and forth?
John Baker, we have not had a gathering in the last few weeks as vacations and schedule have not cooperated. I know the photos were very limited, but that was because the folks who were there did not want to worry about being in a newspaper. I told Jason that you need photos for your side and he said it sounded like a great reason to have a get together.
Got some wiring to do today. I think we are going shopping for a little while and then the wiring this afternoon.
Dennis
PS: lookes like a new thread will be started soon, so I will see y'all on the other one.

Comm Check - just seeing if the thread is locked yet? Cold in St. Louis this morning and slept in late for once - great! I need to find out what our plans are for the day. Watching Dr. Who with the kids (DVR'd the last few episodes off BBC). Might get to work on the basement and/or layout today - we'll see!

Afternoon all (but still morning here)!

Had a great Thanksgiving. Ate at the SIL's house and then relaxed to the Cowboys/Jets game. Thursday night is the big showdown between the Boys and the Packers. The NFL network is happy about that matchup, eh!. Only one team walks away with an 11 and 1 record. Go Cowboys!

Light rain here today and high in the low 40's. Supposed to rain through tomorrow. We need it. the ground was getting a bit dry.

Prayers for those that need them.

Have a great day all!
Roy

Well, if we keep on getting more people from CTT at this rate, we'll need a new caboose thread every 5-6 months!

Afternoon all from a sunny, windy and v. cold Crystal Lake where I just spent a 'delightful' morning replacing a mailbox that vanished - pole and all - overnight. Sigh. Yesterday was a good news/ bad news kind of day - picked up the new car - after enduring a long session of up-selling - the daughter had new hysterics about her 'breaking-up-boyfriend' - I am so sick of high school drama and this is only my first.. oh well, could be a lot worse. Hope to help a buddy with his layout tomorrow.

Welcome, John!

This could be the last of the bench top construction for a while. All I need to do is cut four layers of foam to this shape and I ready to start finalizing the track plan:

It's all rather confusing! I'm not sure whether this the same thread, a new one or part III of the original one. Just be consistant, that is all I ask.
Dennis you must have some very nervous people? To be afraid of an old English man. I don't care what they have to hide, it means nothing to me who they are. I am only interested in keeping good relations between we who straddle the pond in Lionels name.

Great we have "grown" so much that we have to have an "oil and fliter" change every so often. :thumb:

Back from Miss Edna's with two new cars [MTH Southern cyl. hopper and a Lionel CN cyl. hopper with the colored bands]. Seems UPS finally paid up for their bad employee who stole the box. Now if US Airways pays, I'll be OK. OH, Alltel owes me a rebate. They have sent one but the other has not come. Time to call and harass [no demand what is mine].

Just saw news video of Frankie with flack jacket [wears fest under his shirt] running through some cars with is AR15 in hand. Surrounding a bank robber. Later we see the Sheriff [along with some more "brass"] bringing out the "suspect" from a building he ran in. Then we see Frankie walking across the parking lot with his flack jacket off but AR15 over his shoulder. He hasn't told me but his older sister says he is trying out for SWAT. I know they asked him to join a little over a year ago but I told him not too. SWAT here does pie jobs [serves civil papers and etc.] until something "comes down". Probably get called out once a week. I figure he would get bored doing the other. His Capt. is his buddy and he gets two districts as roving deputy. The SWAT Capt and him are not the closest of friends [if you understand] as that Capt. is a hold over from the past Sheriff [who I helped unseat]. We'll see.

Too cold outside with a good breeze blowing to do leaves. Snack time as I have not eaten since GRITS this morning at 9.

Later

I thought I would share why I like the first Saturday after Thanksgiving. Nothing better than a house full of women when they are cooking.
