I'm beginning to wonder about ebay myself.I received an retaliatory feedback the other day and I'm not happy about it.The guy totally misrepresented what he was selling by grading a HO building VG and not describing the problems it had.He did take photos, but conveniantly did not show one side of the building with major problems(broken and missing pieces). On top of that he charged me $16 for shipping when it says right on the tag that it was only $9.20 so I wasn't happy and left a negative.Anyways,he didn't like that and left me a negative saying he actually paid $18 or so for shipping, like he was actually saving me money and that I should have contacted him to resolve the issue!I'm sorry, but I know when I'm being lied to and deceived and I had no intention of contacting the guy.I'm not that stupid,I know a medium 3# box does not cost $18 to ship standard flat rate and as mentioned the tag says $9.20!Yeah I know,do I want cheese with my whine? It felt good to get off my chest anyways:).

I hope so too Deano,I think $150 is a fair price for it and they are getting harder to find in the Paragon series.I think you'll like what I'm getting to replace it,it's going to be my X-Mas gift but it was pricey so I have to make up for some of the price.

Chris:wav: , E-vil bay AND paypal caused me TONS of problems:frowns: , so bad i had to close out my bank account and start over(darned hackers:madd: ), NEVER, NEVER AGAIN!
its really to bad, i have been searching for a Lionel Veranda turbine(HO) at 8-10 shows EVERY YEAR for the last 6yrs, and haven't found one:frowns: , i have seen them on e-vil bay, but I'll be darned if i will EVER get one on there:madd: .

WOW!, just $150.00...for your AC6000? THATS A STEAL for that engine!!!:eeki::thumb::thumb::thumb: i am REAL SURPRISED you haven't sold it yet:confused: . does it have sound?, if so, its a TOTAL STEAL:eeki: (are you people reading this:winki: ).

Thanks ya'll, I've been working on them for about 2 months now, trying to catch up with all the new detailing practices and such. Even though I know you can buy them with even more detail in them than I did, I still like doing the work myself. I get more enjoyment that way:mrgreen: Out of all the locos I have, I think only 2 of them are factory painted:eek: More to follow over the next couple of weeks:thumb:

CRed, I wish I had the $ for your AC6000, that thing looks sweet. Even though it is my birthday on Sunday, I got to use that cash to finish the projects I already got going:rolleyes:

Unfortunatley Ebay is the closest thing I have to a local hobby shop. Nearest one is in OKC about 90 miles from here:cry:

Deano-

Yep,with DCC and sound!I'm actually thinking about going smaller and older,SD40-2's,GP's and SD38-2's and such.I have a Kato DM&IR SD38-2 and I want to expand the fleet and I'll get an UP SD40-2,maybe a Blueline? That means the UP Kato SD90 will probably have to go along with an custom Genesis CN SD70I.

Sarge-

It's an wonderful engine,I really like it.I feel for you though,I'm lucky enough to be only a few miles away from a great LHS,something I'll try not to take for granted. It's a shame a few bad apples have to ruin the ebay experience.I've been lucky enough to have had no problems until now and most model railroaders seem to be decent folk.

Chris, you're selling an DCC/Sound AC6000 for $150!? Can I reserve it and pay for it later?

As for eBay, I had a seller with 700+ feedback charge me $15.33 shipping, when I asked about it he never replied, I left a Neg, he responded about an hour later saying he was going to offer me $7 back (leaving me paying $8.33 for something he shipped for $4.60 in a free box) but he's not going to because I could not wait for him to reply. He went on to say something about it being a common practice to re-coup the cost of the item with shipping, so I reported him to eBay.

I don't see why not Josh.

It's a good deal,I'm actually losing about $13 or so on it which isn't to bad.

Yeah this guy is a piece of work!I can't believe he would think that people are that stupid,he was trying to make more money because he didn't get enough for the junk he was selling. The shipping price is right on the BOX for petes sake! Then saying in his retaliatory feedback that it cost him $18+ to ship it like he was actually saving me money was just low man.I was thinking about reporting it,but I know what would happen. They'd say that he'll withdraw his if I withdraw mine and that's not happening.I'm hoping that people will put two and two together and see that it's plainly a retaliatory feedback, especially considering my other feedback. The fact that he took pictures of three sides of the building while ignoring the fourth side with the worst damage and not describing it while giving it a VG grade was pretty low also.

Leave a reply to the Neg he left you, and follow up on the one you left him.

On the reply, say it was a retaliatory feedback and he's lying about the shipping he paid. When following up on the Neg you left him, say he retaliates with Negs, and lied about the shipping he paid. I'd still report the item as excessive shipping, if thats the case, eBay is damn tough on that.

If its damaged, use the item not as described route. You can still slam the seller for that.

P.S. I'll take the engine!

Chris: I'm agreeing with Josh - i have over 650 feedback and i go out of my way to make sure I have a fair shipping price... These idiots absolutely upset me. E-bay is cracking down on "Excessive shipping charges" that's why they have the cost column sortable by 'price & shipping' combined.

That way if someone puts more shipping to boost the price, it actually moves further down the search list.

As far as feedback - yeah - leave an explanation for his negative - They don't give you much space to vent, but it's worth the try...

I've done a lot of "trading" on eBay, and of nearly 400 trades, I've had only 1 problem with a shmuck who kept my $$ and never shipped..Skipped out of eBay and was never heard from again. As for PP, I pay and collect with it and have never had a problem (knock on wood).

Well, the mad season begins....I'll just stick to my trains, thank you.

WHAT!!!!!!????

THAT'S TOO EXPENSIVE!!

Deano, I suggest you purchase the real version at this rate, snce that price is the same as a new brass item.

Nice one Josh:thumb:

Here is my second installment of UP projects. These are not for the rivet counters as they have the wrong number boards and only one headlight, but I thought they were fairly close so I went ahead and did them up. What do you think? (Still need to add detail parts)

Not sure who made these. They are heavy metal and very old(I have had them for over 25yrs) But they still run:mrgreen:
