I think I'm going to do a semi trailer & converter dolly, hauling scrap from the maintenance depot. I dug through my scrap drawers and found a Wather's pulpwood truck pup I scrapped due to it being bent, and tons of wheels, and parts I need.

Ahhh, October... 25 Days until my birthday.

Here's a review of the current parts list from my scrap bin. It's slightly over exposed but, what can you expect from a phone?

Semi-list:
-Athearn KW Cab & Chassis
-Athearn truck wheels (I think I have enough for the cab & pup)
-Walthers Pulpwood truck pup, converter dolly removed
-Walthers Pulpwood truck converter dolly
-Walthers Pulpwood truck crane & grapple
-Proto 2000 grab irons/ladder
-Walthers Autorack side panels
-Plano etched metal walkway bulk stock (left over from the Barstow yard tower!)
-Evergreen sheet ribbed siding scrap (from Barstow tower again)
-Midwest Products 3/32" basswood left over, for scrap ties
-RPP Step guards
-Athearn hand rail stanchions
-Proto 2000 wood deck from 52' drop end Gon
-Window panels (unknown kit)
-Interior from Street Whipz van
-Bowser Roadrailer trailer stand and bumper
-Walthers pintle hook from 26' parcel trailer
-Ertl mirrors, air horn, exhaust
-RPP brake wheel (to make trailer kingpin!)

-Anything else I find useful in my scrap boxes.

I still need a fuel tank, and battery box for the truck, and headlights.

Update #1, 10-1-07

Well, I've been prepping the boom most of the day. I'm going to make it fully positionable, which means breaking it into segments, and making all new hydraulic pistons. I have the basic sections of the boom done, I just need to do the seat and base hinge now. The biggest problem there will be adding the top mounted hydraulic piston, because the model had a bottom mounted one. I may got bottom mounted, not sure yet.

I'm jumping ahead of the competition, I think. Remember now, this is all out of my scrap bin, and very little is assembled exactly as the kits the came from.

It's a truck to haul lumber, in this case it will be hauling scrap ties. It was a Kenworth cab, but I'm doing a little modification to it.

That's really coming along nicely. If it's to be a logging truck, most of them have tough lives, don't they? Will it be all beaten up and weathered, or a spiffy brand-new logging truck?

Semi-used.

I figure, for being a old truck, it'll be well taken car of, like its an O/O truck. They buy old used ties to be used in people's yards...

Go figure, I saw something along that line here in San Diego, though they were selling people rocks.

I'm, sorry guys, I'm not done... I'm too sore to figure out where the metal pins are for the arms.
