Good morning from Buckeyeland where everything is coming up roses! :thumb:

The parties were great. Great food especially the chilli and the cold beer. The women were all lovely dressed in Scarlet and Grey. The cheering was loud and boisterous. A fun time was had by all, except those dressed in blue and yeller.

No one commented on my scenery question? Is there a better place to post the question?

Dr. John, hope you had a great birthday.

Hi Buckeye, You could try posting this in the O gauge part of the forum or the Scenery part of the forum. Then it won't get lost in the general converation on this thread.

HI GIZ,

39 and snowing here, big flakes!
Well went pheasant hunting yesterday with the BROTHER. We were in the switch grass big tall stuff, and put one out, it flew about 200 yards into a hedgerow. So we went after it got down were it went in and sure enough it got up right in front of me. I threw up my model 12 Winchester 16 gauge, took off the safe and didn't want to shoot it in the rear. So took aim on the head and antisipated the bird flying upward shot and missedDA! Pumped another one in the chamber and shot agin but bird was to far and SMOKED another one DA! It Went back to the switch grass so me and the brother went after it we put it up again but got up really wild. Oh well just another memory. Came home had fire ate burgers and dogs had a few beverages and then went to bed.

DR. JOHN HAPPY BIRTHDAY, hope you get something with flanged wheels? Enjoy your day.balloon6bday2bday1

I did want to mention one thing to the guys moving over from the other forum. Please make an effort to get to know the guys who were here before. On occasion Ngauger (Mikey) will post on this thread and he is a nice guy who participated in the Chief "grits raid" in Harrisburg. Others as well who work in N & HO as well as S & O also post so Please be inclusive in your comments.

One thing I love about this forum is that you can read the recent post while you are typing your post. Great idea that I wish others would copy.

John
I Thought I heard someone mention my name :D :D My ears were ringing sign1sign1sign1

Hey John I'm use to this format as I use it when I go to another forum Which also is all gauges/scales. I feel we can all learn something from each other no mater the scale/gauge as it a lot the same just some do it in a larger mode or smaller mode than others.

Thanks for the welcome and glad to be here it been getting wild in the other not sure what all was said or done but thats there. not here.

A gray and rainy day in Iowa with a possibility of crummy weather moving in later this week. Hope the weather guessers are wrong or my wife & I will struggle getting rid of a 15# turkey. I have quite the recipe for a smoked turkey that the family requests when we host the big day. The turkey takes an all night bath in a big bucket with all kinds of spices and fresh juices and then I get up early and he smokes for several hours. Great flavors to be sure. The first year I did big bird this way my wife had serious doubts on how it would turn out, so many in fact that she prepared another turkey in the oven just in case--- her effort was a distant 2nd choice, it was hilarious. Now it's just one turkey, on the smoker.

We have been blessed to have our Granddaughter here this weekend and the Thomas set has been a big hit. She's just 18 months old but has had a blast putting different "people" in the cars, those removable roof's are a great idea. Although she can't run the transformer we have just had a wonderful time with her, the biggest problem is me sitting on that hard floor! But it's well worth it to see her smiles.

Have a great day!

Good morning from a cold and overcast St. Louis, where we were number 100 in line for a Wii and only 95 were handed out :(. We were really close, though and now we know we need to show up early. Watching Spiderman 3 and doing laundry and surfing the web. A great scene with Spidey and Sandman fighting in a multiple layer subway if you guys didn't see it.

(Scouting for food) Tom, we filled up the back of a pickup with bags of cans and boxed food, not sure what the final count was. Many houses had at least 1 bag, some had none and a very few had more than one! One house had 5 bags and they were full! The Salvation Army does the sorting and counting, so we just drop off. I'm sure we'll get an email with the final count later this week.

BTW - nice pics ,thanks for sharing guys!

Back from Mom's. Laz, the pheasant did not get shot, he committed suicide. Didn't want to live through a winter of snohio in PA. Jon E. Tell you how smart some folks are. SIL has masters in engineering and Youngest has graduated from Merdith [big Baptist women's College]. Had not opened Lionel Thomas set I took the other weekend. "It says it has small parts." "Alison, it is a real electric train." "Carter can not play with it." "Chris has to run it for him." "OH!" Now if you read the box and saw it said, "Has small parts", would you not have read farther and realized it is a real electric train???? wall1:confused::cry: Train room time. Later

Laz - Send some of that snow this way. We're still in the middle of a bad drought here in Alabama. We'll take anything, even the snow.

No train room work yet. Went to pond to feed deer. Model Rocket floating around. Nice one. Finally caught it with a lure and got it out. Deer were waiting for me when I came back out. Got feeding places at the pond and then at the bottom of the solid rock I drive up from the pond. They walked away but would not come back out for 15 minutes. I sat at the top of the hill with everything off and waited. Place was full of foxes running around like cats. Think it is time for the .17 and the squalling rabbit tape. Thin a few out.
Later.

My boy lost a tooth while eating dinner. After that, he didn't want any more chicken, but he was still hungry. We told him to go ahead and get something else to eat - something soft. He came back eating a sandwich.... A KETCHUP sandwich!
Watching Shrek 3 - pretty funny!

Chief--I feel your pain. I'm surprised we've all lived this long without all the warnings, what we need is a little more advice from the government on how to live our lives, i.e. small parts. DUH, it's an electric train--that's why Thomas is going to live at our house for the next few years as I know my son won't run it for the princess. I can't think of anything more fun for me than to run Thomas for my granddaughter, we have a GREAT time, she's so animated and happy it just about makes my heart jump out of my chestbounce7
