Good evening and welcome to the Junior Members, Dennis, Jim and John Baker. John, at our age doesn't it feel good to be called a Junior anything?

Well I just proved that getting older doesn't make you any smarter. Just sat through the first District 3 HS football playoff game in the rain with 35 degree temperatures. The good part is we won, Elizabethtown 35 - Shippensburg 7, so we play again next friday. Don't know who yet.

Jeffrey, Those temperatures sound tropical compared to what we are having.

Chuck, Hope the wife has a better night tonight.

Speaking of grits, I had them for breakfast today for the second time this week, something about cooler weather makes me crave them.

Your all take care,
John

Thanks John,
At 68 I feel a little patronised, I take it Junior is a reference to time on the forum. I hope to get to senior before I die.
Getting colder here in Stockport, had a frost last night, haven't seen any gritters yet.
Got wax problems in the listening department, causes nausia dizziness, fell over when I arose from my pit this AM. I think here is a cure for the problem of purchasing enebriation.
Have a good one all. Hope all the poorly get better.:thumb:

Up early since I stayed up til 1:30 reading a train magazine and watching MI3. Wife took over laptop, something about bills and other poor excuses. Need another laptop that's at least good enough for internet and email.... Gotta get motivating for cub scouts. Scouting for Food and Color Guards are what it's all about, but our pack spends most of its time squeezing money out of us through our kids. Don't know where it all goes!

I got my preordered K-Line by Lionel barn and chicken coop - came in a bag instead of a box. Haven't opened it yet, so hope the instructions are in there -- I can't see them!? Maybe go to LHS later. Wife wants furniture - need a new set of recliners or something. Chewy (she is our beloved "3rd child" with fur) chewed up our current recliner/loveseat as a puppy and now the mechanisms are going. Looked underneath and it's all pretty cheap pressboard etc. So much for quality furniture. Now I know what not to buy.

John B - you can get drops at the local pharmacy (chemist) to loosen up that debris in your head, then flush out with a syringe!

Dowry! I tease my FiL that I want to trade my wife in, since she no longer has factory parts after 3 operations, but he said they would want the goat and chickens back! ;)

Good Morning..
Busy day. Slept better last night. Both of us. Wife is doing better today. Starting to try to walk on the foot with the BIG shoe. She's getting bossy again, so that means she's feeling better. Lucky me.
It's cool and cloudy today. Need some sunshine.
Well, back to work. Be back later,
Chuck

Good afternoon, where it is 45 degrees in Buckeyeland.

Been a busy day. Grocery shopping, dry cleaning, mowing the lawn, storing the deck furniture, storing the Garden RR buildings, and mulching millions of leaves.

I have heard two stories about the train wreck in Maryland. One story is that the bridge collapsed under the weight of the trains. The other is that two trains collided.

Have a good weekend and remember our VETS. :patriot1:

Well, if there's an oily substance in the water there, it's from the coal or something else. Rail cars dont have or use hydraulic oil or even have oil in the cars, The journals have sealed bearing with grease in them & air brakes don't use oil. There may be a bit of grease or like an oily substance on the cars from road grime. Reporters tend to say anything sometimes !!
Thanks, John

Oh, yes & remember the Vets !!

Yes, Remember the Veterans!

Hey, did they check the rails for Grits, John? That might be butter in the water. Just saying....

PS - I ordered that new Trackworks book by Riddle and another book on layouts from Amazon. I think the Riddle book was like $14 and I got free s/h by adding a 2nd book. My week of birthday fun continues! Oh well, wife will catch up shortly with furniture. I think we're getting ready to go out, so TTFN everybody.

Derailment. Problem is CSX is a dinky short line RR. Feds should take it away and give it to NS. Yanks up here act as if they have never been in a store before. they walk in, stand there, stare and gape with their mouths open. How do they get so fat up here. No decent food. No fried chicken, chicken fried steak with millhouse gravy, country fried beef steak with gravy, sausage gravy and biscuits, mashed potatoes and gravy [not mashed herb potatoes] and sweet ice tea. Can't even get unsweeten tea. Asked for ice tea, knew it would be unsweeten. It came with rasberry in it. wall1

Going back to the store later. Marine is slooow as boats are winterized up here. Clothing and hunting is different. Lot of just viewers. Police have blocked off the main entrance and diverting traffic to the UCON football stadium parking area. Hope the crowd drops off later. Later

Ho-boy !! The Chief thinks one of the biggest RRs in the country is a Shortline !! Then he wants to give it to the Dark Side, (n&s) !!
I can't even repeat the letters n&s !! CSX is the only RR Trusted to Move America !! We even have shirts that say that on them !! Plus we have the only edible, deliscious most tasty & nutricious food there is in the world up here & he's complaining !! Plus he forgets it's free too !! sign1
I hope he gets the popcorn done on time tonight, too !!

Thanks, John

Afternoon, all!

Chief, thanks for tip on the Marx - I'll check it out. Just won a couple of Lionel shorty postwar gondolas on the 'bay. Getting excited about putting up the Christmas layout the week of Thanksgiving.

Alabama lost to Mississippi State. Bama's just been too inconsistent this year - play well one game, poor the next. wall1

Buckeye, you're right about the Thai food. Same is true for seafood this far north of the coast. That's one thing I really miss about living in Mobile - a lot of great, fresh seafood places. At least we have good BBQ!

Dr. John, no you do not have good bar-be-que. The only REAL Bar-be-que is Eastern NC Pork Bar-be-que.

Buckeye, crying over the loss. If I do that, does it mean I get a box of BUCKEYES? :thumb:

And on the subject of GRITS, did you notice what President Bush provided for Chancellor Merkel at his ranch?

"and a homey dinner of arugula salad, beef tenderloin, sauteed mushrooms, asparagus and cheese grits, topped off with pecan pie and ice cream".

Now there is a man who knows how to plan a dinner. :thumb:
