New Boy.

I'm definately in Yankeeland. Cold. Calling for snow showers. Off to Cabela's party. :thumb: Later

Afternoon all, and Jim (Thanks for the link),
Hope I'm not intruding?
Wondered where you had all got to?
Just having a pot of hot sweet tea and then off to the sampling rooms TGIF.

Good Morning.......
It's cold and cloudy here. Going up to 53 today. No snow.
Wife had a rough night. Lots of pain. Took another pain pill and fell back to sleep. She will be out most of the day. I will be busy in the house. Got to figure out what to make for supper. No time for trains today.
Everyone have a good day,
Chuck

We celebrated Baby Buckeye's Birthday last night. She and I ran the trains before the celebrations. Of course she likes to run the Mikado pulling the C&O passenger cars. It was the highlight of my day to see my daughter of 28 years running the trains just like she did when she was much younger. Her PE layout will be out around the tree again this year. She told me Christmas wouldn't be right without a train around her tree.

Chuck, do you want me to run over to your house and be your cook for a few days? I will bring my special recipe for hot dogs and beans.

Chief, have a good time in the land of big money and big taxes.

Afternoon, all and welcome to Dennis, Jim and John B. - nice to see you all!

Very nice day here, although a bit overcast. Had a light frost this AM but it warmed up quickly. Leaves are falling everywhere!

Chief, glad you weathered your reaction okay. Probably just withdrawal from no grits.

Off today and having a nice visit w/ daughter down from Birmingham. We went to a Thai restaurant I've been wanting to try (it was okay but not great) and now I'm just kicking back with an afternoon cup of coffee while she takes a nap.

Later!

Eating Thai food in Alabama is like eating Chesapeake Blue Crab in Ohio. Just not right. :p

Dr. John, I do believe your diagnosis of the Chief is correct. Grits withdrawal could very well do that to a hardened Sutherner.

Monday is Veterans Day and I want to give a big thank you to all the Vets out there. :patriot1:

Howdy from Missouri, where there is frost on the roof at 7 AM and nearly need to run the AC at dinner time - every day!

Chuck, stay on top of your wife - pill wise, I mean! It's harder to get rid of the pain than it is to prevent it. Keep her taking those pills as directed for a couple days. I'm sure you already know that, after all you folks have been through though! Hang in there. I could send you some boxes of mac and cheese, but by the time they got there, I'll bet she's back at the stove!

John Baker - glad to see you too and glad you kept your feet dry! I read your mail about the flood!

Dennis, Dr. John, Spankybird, Buckeye, Chief, John S, glad to be here and hope I don't wear out my welcome!

Taking son out with Cub Scouts tomorrow, too - also for scouting for food. Going to folks for dinner tomorrow, then having friends over for dinner at our house Sunday -- will make Chili!

Jeff - glad to make your acquaintance! I have some ancestors from Louisiana and gotta love that food!

Good evening and welcome to the Junior Members, Dennis, Jim and John Baker. John, at our age doesn't it feel good to be called a Junior anything?

Well I just proved that getting older doesn't make you any smarter. Just sat through the first District 3 HS football playoff game in the rain with 35 degree temperatures. The good part is we won, Elizabethtown 35 - Shippensburg 7, so we play again next friday. Don't know who yet.

Jeffrey, Those temperatures sound tropical compared to what we are having.

Chuck, Hope the wife has a better night tonight.

Speaking of grits, I had them for breakfast today for the second time this week, something about cooler weather makes me crave them.

Your all take care,
John

We are taking several Cub Scouts from our pack to see the Philadelphia Phantoms play on Sunday. I talked to the guy organizing the event and they want us to be one the color guards. Problem is our American flag is not parade worthy. It is a small flag that you would display on your window at home. I spoke with the Pack Treasurer and he is giving us a check to go flag shopping tomorrow after we do the Scouting for Food Bags. We need to get a 4 X 6 flag, 8 ft flagpole, (to match our pack flag), two flagpole tops, (the one on the pack flagpole is broken), and two flagpole belts. Apparently our pack has not participated in any parades or color guards for at least ten years. Well that is about to change!
