Ground throw spinging help needed

I bought some Caboose Indus. ground throws at the LHS the other day and didnt know I had unsprung throws, after reading some posts in here I see that I will have to add springs to these but how is this done.wall1
I try to thow the switch and the throw is moving almost as much as the turnout anybody out there have any pointers as to how these things are suposed to be done??

Mike: you need the throw to move more than the points.
I make a little Z-shaped bend in the middle of a springy piece of wire, then bend the ends up -- result is kind of --N--. The English make a circular loop so that the wire is shaped like omega __O__. (Bottom of O should be open)
I put something like these in all my electric switch machines as well.

The ground throw has to be spiked in place. After you've made and installed the spring, place the points of the turnout at the mid-point of their travel, and the handle of the ground throw at the mid-point of its movement (vertical), then spike the ground throw in place.
