MTH sues Lionel

thats crazy. One doesnt picture Lionel as a company that would do such a thing. Its kind of like Barney, the friendly dinosaur, stealing songs off Sesame street

Actually, I recall competing schemes regarding their funding of a rail related restoration. Lionel started off with it...eventually to use it purely as a marketing scheme...but backed out when their other sponsors lost interest. MTH then jumped in primarily to show up Lionel...but they ended up not being involved in the end...another source of funding was secured. That was between 5 and 10 years ago and would have been quite high profile.

They are bitter rivals...and their mutual dislike is probably greater than the venom-fests debating the two on 3-rail forums.

KFC is easy to make.

Take a sachet of Chicken Soup (Locally: Royco, Cuppa Soup) powder and mix it with flour and mixed spices.

Break and mix a few eggs in a bowl.

Dip raw chicken pieces into the eggs and then the soup/flour mix and fry for 20 minutes- Bob's your uncle.

Coke and Pepsi is another story.

If I owned shares in KFC, I would be insulted that this recipe is so easy to duplicate...

Actually...Its easier then that.

As I recall this is straight out of a recipe book that duplicates or rather figured out the chemical make-up of some of these popular food items and their ingredients. The eleven herbs is actually nothing more then a truck load of salt, MSG (yep!), pepper and flour. We tried it. Tasted just like the real deal. Scary.

We also made "Big Macs" and "Snickers" bars using the same book too. Mind you they didn't exactly look like the real thing...but sure as heck tasted like them. Needless to say knowing what really goes into it, kinda turns your stomach off too. I'll have to look up the title when I get home.

Coke and Pepsi is another story.

The US recipe is simple...
water, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, artificial color, artificial flavor...and some caffeine.

The non-US recipe (anywhere corn syrup isn't subsidized to death)...water, sugar, artificial color, artificial flavor...and some caffeine. Although in the EU they actually use real flavors...in other words...they haven't been produced by people like me...lab rats. It doesn't make a difference in Colas...but OH MY GOODNESS does it matter for Fanta Orange! The cocaine is long since removed.

And a little CO2 for each...which forms Carbonic Acid and will drop the pH down to around 3...acidic enough to destroy metals.

WOW, this just gets more and more interesting!

tetters, remember that the way the factories prepare the items is much more different than us using a single baking tray, etc

Scary about the CO2. But I've always thought that taking in CO2 is bad, because our bodies take in Oxygen and produces CO2. That never stopped me from drinking the stuff though.

EDIT: Our Coke cans also say corn syrup.
