BazookaJo and Ekuth are working hard at making the Cylon Armour for all of us.:thumb:
He (BazookaJo) did an exelent job making the Cylon helment, and has alowed me to have a ceta build of the Neck brace that he is working on.
I have started building it, buy printing it on normal print paper and cutting out the pieces and gluing them to the back of mirror card.

I have been real busy with car's breaking down etc.... so it has been difficult getting time to work on this
but did had some time tonight.
After cutting the parts out and carefully dragging the knife across the tab to peel up just the foil off of the tab so that I have a clean paper surface to glue the parts together.
What I have gotten so far from Bazooka Joe for the ceta Neck brace looks real good:thumb::twisted: and goes together good as well :thumb:
Hoping to get more
thanks again

Now that I've found cardmodelling, I think it'll probably be a major source of Halloween costume parts for me from now on. This year I'm going as V from "V for Vendetta", and I'm making the mask from a PDO file I found on the Pepakura website. Next year, I may just have to go as an old-timey Cylon, thanks to Bazooka Joe.

Hi Guys

Big thanks for doing the Ceta build Red :thumb: If everything was okay I'll consider that part finished.

Next up will be the backpack I reckon when I get some spare time.

BTW Red - is that a full size styrene suit you have there? If so, I shall be calling on you for some measurements if that's okay. With the neck peice I was working just from photos extrapolating the measurements from the helmet I'd made - it was entirely eyeball engineered, hacked from cardboard on the living room floor

Still crazy busy with the house, so getting little time for modelling these days, but I will get more time as things settle down.

BTW if folks are still struggling with mirror card, there seems to be quite a bit of mirror silver wrapping paper around at this time of year - you could then build the parts from a good strong card, and then paste the silver paper over the top....

Alternatively, over in the UK you can get special dampproof wallpaper, which is a harder wearing for about £10 - I'm guessing it would probably be enough to cover a whole suit.

Just something to think about ...

Regards

Paul

Sorry Bazooka Joe :cry:found this picture on my hard drive when I was doing some clean up thought that I would throw it in to show that your work is top  notch.
The Neck brace went together real good :thumb: it left me wanting to get more.

No probs Red.

BTW is that silver card helmet you're wearing or the aliminium one you built? If it's the metal one - will we see a metal neck-peice/backpack ?

BTW - you're getting like me when I first got into paper modelling - so many ideas, and so little time :(

Regards

Paul.

P.S. Iron man would be cool as would anything Starwars :D

Oh I've been like this for years! Since I first discovered papermodels I've been like this. Same goes for scratchbuilding.

I've thought about 1:1 props before, weapons and costumes. I did model a mesh for the Imperial Royal Guard. It wasn't up to much as it was rushed but I still think about it from time to time.

And now is one of those times. Iron Man would be awesome wouldn't it. ;)

Not to hijack this thread at all but I'm sure there's a website/forum where that is already possible. A group of Halo fans who've extracted the meshes from the game and used them the way we do to create papermodels. Only they're using them to create templates for armor that they make themselves.

I like it but as it's sort of been done. I'd rather try something somewhat original.

Sorry BazookaJo, didn't mean to hijack the thread. :)

yes it was the aluminum helmet
yes I am planning on building it in aluminum as long as no one complains up at work, but it may take a while since I have to collect the scrap aluminum.

do you know if anyone has made the Leaf Erikson space ship in a card model

Hi guys, I'm a nubie on this hobby too... Iron Man costume looks like good enough, considering a live action movie of Iron Man will launch ^_^

Anw, Does Stormtrooper from Star Wars eps : IV-VI, kind of cool too?

Stormtrooper would indeed be VERY cool, plus the whole thing could be done out of gloss white card with practically no printing. In fact, I'm sure I've seen some adhesive white vinyl you can buy which would give it an awsome finish

BTW I've also always loved the tie fighter pilot and AT-AT driver hemets too if anyone's listening
