Good morning folks

The humidity and unseasonably warm temperatures have returned with a vengeance. I drove in everything from a drizzle to shower on the way to work this morning. The temperature on the way in was 73 F with 90% humidity. The high today is supposed to be 76 F with thunderstorms especially in the afternoon and evening. I guess that will kill our Cub Scout hayride tonight.:( We really need the rain, however.

I cleaned up a few things on the layout and put some stuff away. I also began looking over the pile to see what I can get into next.

This weekend is the story of one crazy day and one not so crazy. Tonight we are supposed to have a Cub Scout Autumn Moon Hayride but it is beginning look like the rain will cancel it. :x:-(Saturday begins with my son selling Cub Scout popcorn at a local drug store. While he is doing that my daughter has basketball practice. After the basketball and popcorn my son has his homecoming game against the Chester Panthers. Then we have the Cub Scout Halloween Evening at the Boy Scout reservation. :razz:hamrSunday we have nothing planned.

Depending on my physical condition tooth1I would like to start adding some details to the Farm House Area. Also I need to look through the pile on the work bench and plan the next couple of projects.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Morning from Baton Rouge. LSU pulled one out of a "hole". LA elected its first non-white Gov. [parents from India]. Also the Nation's youngest. Off to the store after breakfast buffet downstairs. Short flight to Houston, 2 hour wait and 2+ hr. flight home. Hope the flight from BR to Houston takes the same route. Flew over New Orleans coming. Great view of train yards and shipping docks. Have a good one.

Good morning folks

The weird weather continues. It was 57 F on the way in but our high is supposed to be 79 F, although one local TV station was saying 83 F. Even though we had rain on Thursday things are still very dry. The ground feels like concrete.

It was a extremely busy weekend. My son worked a show and sell for Cub Scout popcorn on Saturday and Sunday morning. We also went on a Cub Scout Halloween Evening. We did not make his football game with everything else going on.

Since I was barely home this weekend no modeling got done.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good morning folks

A little rushed this morning as I have to go visit a bridge project that is finishing construction today and the drive is about an hour one way. It is still unseasonably warm. It was 66 F on the way out of the driveway this morning. High is 78 F and we may have showers coming later. I began winterizing the fish pond by removing and cleaning the filter. We also took down the gazebo and put it the garage.

I began pulling boxcars out of the pile to work on. I started assembling an Accurail Lehigh Valley 50’ ribbed boxcar.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Not Trains, But Really COOL!

Many of you have seen this post elsewhere but for those of you who haven't...

Nice weather here today for the launch of the Shuttle Discovery (STS-120)

The rains of the past few weeks have abated and NASA was able to light the candle on this puppy this morning. I had wanted to go down and see it up close and personal but one thing led to another and between medical appointments and family obligations was only able to stand out in the road in front of the house and watch Discovery sail toward the heavens over my back yard.

The Cape is 100 miles (160 klicks) down the coast and still the flame and smoke from the launches is breathtaking. My little 37mm objective lens on my POS Kodak doesn't do it justice. But here they are anyway.

BTW, That's my Dog, Minnie in the road with me. A retired Sheriff K9 now in my care.

Next launch December 6 and I'm packing my Oxygen bottles and fueling up the T-Bird and going down to see Atlantis (STS-122) launch.
