Stay tuned

Skupilkinson is just finishing off the mining ship model - should be available soon.
I've also just sent the Tube Transport off to nothing for preparing the pattern and instructions.

This weekend I should be finishing off the Colonial liners, then, unfortunately, I'll be taking a break for a bit - maybe a week or two. After that I think the Celestra is next in line. And since hot4darmat mentioned the Gemini Transport, and I rather like that ship myself, we'll do that one after the Celestra.

Bye for now,

SJ

Guys, the Gemini Transport is a great ship. I prefer that to the Colonial Movers.

I'm just finishing up the instructions for the Mining ship. I had a break last night, well, it has an enforced break. The wife wanted some quality time. LOL I'll try and get them done after this and post it up, or send it to Chris here if it's above the 2MB limit.

I'm also working on another Astral Queen. I liked Nothing's but I like mine a bit bigger so I'm doing that. I'll also release that for those who like myself prefer larger models.

I'd like to get some more done on the Defender today/tonight too. I made a start on the flight pod but haven't finished that yet so I'll post a pic tonight of my progress.

Once I'm done with these, the ship I'd like to work on next is Cloud9 or the Rising Star(Ring Ship/Intersun Luxury Liner). After SJ's had his break.

He has other projects too but we've been keeping him here supplying me and Nothing with new ships to work on as well as his Colonial Liners.

Looking forward to those Liners BTW. :)

Oh, Nothing. Good idea about that "fold back" part. So simple. I folded mine back but that way of yours does make it a bit easier.

Mining Ship on station

Well that didn't take so long. SJ sent me reference pics to help with the build order. They were so good that all I had to do was add the part numbers and the instructions were done!!

Here's the Colonial Ming Ship!!

As some of you may have realised now, I like my models larger than most so this model will probably build to around 18" give or take. It's a 10 page PDF. Similar to the Defender. I can create a smaller version if it's desired later. I'll also be doing "No-Lines" versions too.

This model builds differently to the Defender. The Defender is basically one large hollow shell which make it rather delicate and non child friendly. The Mining ship was broken down into sub-parts so it's both easier to build and forms a stronger model as a result I'd imagine.

Enjoy!!

Hey, I thought. We're doing this and have forgotten about the guy who started this big ball rolling. JWHawk04. It'd be nice if he was still following this thread if he commented on the project or even if he still wanted to be part of this team to let us know. It's just I kinda felt we've pushed him out in some way.

What do you say JWHawk?? You still around?

If the defender needs support send me some screen shots or something and let me know where, and I can add support structures very easily. Just need to know where you want them (and if you have suggestions of what sort of shape), and a copy of the PDO file. Then I can build the supports, insert them into the PDO and redo the PDF. I've wondered about that as well. Thanks for bringing it up.

I don't think it needs support as such. The fork where the engines split gives it support but it just isn't suitable for kids to play with unless you want to rebuild it time and time again.

I've seen that JW has been here today but I guess he doesn't want to take part anymore orjust hasn't checked this thread for a while.

Made small progress on the larger 'Queen today, I'll get more done tomorrow.

The Mining Ship has been fixed. I'll upload it in the next hour or so. Good catch there buddy.

I'll download the Tube ship and take a look. :)

The Defender looks great, nice job as usual. I'll get mine wrapped up tonight.

Hey Nothing, I took a look at the Tube ships you've done already. They look real good as they are. And as it's not a front line ship, as in we don't see it often, I'm happy with the size too. :)

Ok, the revised Mining ship has been added to my "Mining ship on station" post. It replaces the previous file I attached there. Also, I've uploaded the "no-lines" version to that same post too.

Enjoy!!

Thanks buddy. Though SJ did most of the work. He broke it down into the parts we have.

I got the flight pod done and attached to the hull yesterday. It looks good but was real tricky to get that pod done and include the inner part too. I just have those half cylinders left for the engine blocks now.

Looking forward to starting the Mining Ship.

Thanks very much buddy! I think we're all on the same wave length here in that we just wanted to add to the ships that you've designed.

As I think was mentioned earlier in this thread. I personally would like to redo the Galactica and other ships that you have covered just to offer greater choice out there too. From my point of view, I just want them bigger! LOL

I've almost finished the Astral Queen "B", it's a 12 page PDF. There are support parts and litle detailparts on this one so that's why there are more pages. That and because it's a bigger version. :)

Not got any work done on my Defender yet today though, got a new plasma screen TV so I've been a little distracted. LOL

I've finished the larger Astral Queen. Done a "lines" and "no-lines" version, along with new instructions for these large versions.

The "lines" version is too big to upload myself so I'll upload the other files to the downloads section and send the "lines" file to Chris for hosting/uploading for me.

Off now to finish the Defender. SJ, I wondered if the liners were anywhere near release? Reason being, I'd start a model of the Mining ship but if the liners are almost here then I'll wait and build one of them instead. Running low on card so I'll prioritise until I get more.

Hey, Nothing. How's the Astral Queen and Mining ship going? You're on fire! Thought you'd be worn out by now! LOL. ;)
