I started mine. :) I'll attach a pic.

It's going Ok so far though I have to admit, it's a bit small. Small means fidly! :( I may come back to this to do a larger version at some point.

I'll keep at it though.

Right on!

Glad to see ya back Skip.

I have the colonial liner almost ready for unfolding. The neat thing about that ship is that there six different color schemes for it - should be able to make them all available at once. I'm just heading over to see your reference pics and work out how to do the overlay parts to give that layered effect.

Just to tease everyone, I did up some reference shots of the ships in the package and marked the ones that are done. Everybody have a look and vote for what's next.

Reference Sheet1
Reference Sheet2
Reference Sheet3

Jaybats has done a number of them already, so I'd like to do ones that haven't been done yet first, then go back and do the others (what's life without choices :) ). Eventually we'll do the entire ship pack.

Hey nothing, how's it going with the Defender?

Colonial Movers source?

Nothing, where did you get that colonial movers ship? I don't see it at Jaybats, and it's one of the ones I was looking at for after the liners. If it's already out there I'll do something else first though.

No pressure!

hey guys the movers is a repaint of a b/w kit it is big, http://forum.zealot.com/t135489/

as for the defender it is going slow. the 3d i got wont allow textures so having to do it the hard way. and my computer was down all week. i just repaired it today.

Thanks. I'll keep it on the list then.

As for the defender, if your 3D won't do textures you better get another one. There's great stuff available for free. Spending the time on the learning curve is well worth it.

And if you find it too much don't hesitate to say so. Skupilkinson and I can get em all done sooner or later.

The pics look good SJ. I personally can't wait to start on the new Galactica, I'd like to build mine at around 3foot long. Though we can wait to that untilwe've done the other "undone" ships. Any ideas what you're sending me next??

Though I have something to report on the Shuttle. I posted a pic here lastnight of my build, it was going well until I got to the smaller parts like the domes on the top. They were just too small for me so I scrapped it after one fell apart in my hand.

Have others had this problem??

I'm going to go back and do another one only larger. It'll be better for me and maybe for others too. It won't take much to open the PDO up again and just scale up the original model. Maybe have to break some of the larger parts down further to fit onto the pages.

I'm still working on the Heavy Raider. :) It's a little tricky though but I'll get there. Those pics you sent me Steve were great for helping me choose how to proceed.

Nothing, I love your display cabinet!! That is what I'm going for with my own cabinet some day.

I knew I forgot to mention something earlier!! SJSquirrel, where'd the Balckbird come from?? I've not seen that one before.

It looks a bit "subby" though. I could model us a new one up if you like?? I have a ton of reference for it here somewhere. Keep the mesh simple?? Or as detailed as anyone wants(within reason :) ).

Just a suggestion?

This and that

It was one of the ships in the package. Not having watched the show I don't know how accurate the mesh is. Since Jaybats has it up already I'm leaving it on the later list.

To answer that question I made a list of all the models in the package, then went through Jaybats site to see what he has already, then reviewed every model in Meta and rated it as easy/medium/difficult to get ready.

Here's the results:

Ships already available elsewhere
Colonial Movers - Available on cardmodels - see post #84 in this thread.

Available from Jaybats
Blackbird
Colonial One
Cylon Raider
Galactica
Pegasus
Raptor
ViperMk2
ViperMk7

Available from Paragon's Album
Blackbird (enhanced from Jaybats model)
CylonBasestar
ViperMk2 (enhanced from Jaybats)
ViperMk7 (enhanced from Jaybats)

Ones we've already done
Colonial Shuttle
Gemini Traveller

In Progress
Colonial Defender (mesh cleanup)
Colonial Liners (mesh cleanup almost done, then unfolding)
HeavyRaider (unfolding)

Still to do
AstralQueen - easy
ColTube1 - easy
Mine Ship - easy
ColRef - easy to medium
MS Plat - easy to medium
Celestra - medium
Cloud9 - medium
ColAgro - medium - (mostly repetitive pieces)
Gemini Transport - medium
IntersunLine - Not sure so I'll say difficult

Cloud 9 is going to be an interesting project. I'm glad you're doing the unfolding

The InterSunLine ship is also going to be a challenge - how does one handle a large ring like that? Any suggestions?

Since we've already had a request for the Astral Queen and it's one of the easy ones we may as well do that next. I sure am getting good at deconstructing and simplifying meshes in Meta. :thumb:

I haven't looked at the meshes for ships that are available elsewhere yet. I'll look at those when the time comes and prioritize them similarily.

After the Astral Queen, I figure we should tackle the Celestra since it was one of the originally requested ones. After that, maybe we'll just follow the above list, or do whatever gets requested next.

Just to point out to you all, I have a link to the Two Moons Games model of the Basestar available (in my signature) plus special instructions. Its my avatar.

Someone by the name of Marco Ubidia also e-mailed me with his own Cylon Basestar model. So that's not really necessary. I'd much rather see someone create a model of the Resurrection Ship.

I also have some modifications for the Vipers in the "My Album" link, and a modified version of Jaybat's Blackbird model, with more accurate proportions and a bit more detailed texture.

Cool. That sounds like a plan. ;)

Yeah I looked at Cloud 9, the wire frame is allgood until you get to the dome top. The wire frame isn't a conventional layout for a shere or dome. Not surew how to tackle that for unfolding unless we can alter the wireframe??

Not sure about that ring for the Rising Star(Intersun Liner) either. I have an idea but I'm not too good at explaining it so I'll work on a diagram and send it to you.

Also, I can't remember where I got it from but a Cylon Basestar has already been done too. I have it so I'll take a look to see if it has a "readme" stating where it comes from.

The Astral Queen was one I mentioned so I'll look forward to that one. I'll press on with the Heavy Raider today and see if I can get it done. I'd also like to do a larger Shuttle as the original one I did was a little too small for both my tastes and my larger fingers. :)

Sorry Paragon, missed your post when I just replied. :) Yeah, the Ressurection ship would be nice. Though from what I've seen of it, it would be more a frame work model than a conventional papermodel. Still , it is nice so maybe a mesh has to be created for it??

The Defender is actually being worked on now. :) Nothing is working on one but adding different textures to it so there's a delay on it. I don't doubt we'll do the defender again using the textures from the mesh pack too just to offer a choice.

Thanks! :) Though it's a team effort and it wouldn't have been possible without the original meshes and their great textures!!

I'm totally glad I jumped onboard.

Paragon, thanks for the info and the links. Looks like you've got a great collection of models there. Anywhere we can find pictures of completed ones?
I'll edit my list above appropriately.

And what's the Resurrection ship you refer to?

The Resurrection ship is a Cylon ship. It follows the Cylon fleet that tracks the Galactica ensuring that any "Skinjob" that gets killed when caught by the Colonials can still download into a new body.

It's a nice design. The ship has small pods that hold new bodies for the human type Cylons.

Here's a pic of a fan created mesh at Scifi-meshes. Unfortunately, the mesh is not available to download to use as either the base for our papermodel or to use as reference for our own new mesh. :(

And here's a rather poor pic of how it looks in the series:

And I found this one of the original series mesh before it was lit for filming.
