TomPM...that Milwaukee Road box car reminds me very much of a beautiful O-scale kit I remember seeing 10 years ago...but it can't be since that's HO...and that you stated it to be Athearn.

CNWman: Your first pic is a little dark, can't make out the lead unit. What road is that F unit? looks like a BL2 trailing

The lead unit is my one and only F3, CNW # 4056. The trailing unit is indeed a BL2, C&O 1845, the closest engine I have to an F3 (I have a PA2, but the BL2 is esentialy a modified F3).

TomPM- Thanks! With that project out of the way, the next task is to actualy put foam board down!:p

Trainnut: Yes it's a 1970 Mustang fastack from Fresh Cherries, I had to order this one from walthers because our local WalMart didn't have them in yet. I used to have a 1973 Mach l in that color so I had to have it ..lol

Who makes the big blue LTD that's parked beside the Stang?

Wow! A most impressive collection of photo's!! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

In keeping with the black and white theme, here are some shots from my old layout that I don't think I've ever posted.

A couple of switchers, one diesel, one steam working the area around Massey Fergusson, and a flatcar loaded up with brand new tractors.

It's in the display rack right now. It will eventually be in a static display on the layout. As to what's wrong with it, the bearing seat for the left rear driver is cracked. The only way to repair that is to replace the entire lower frame, and that ain't happening on my income.

Or.... maybe you could just remove the engine entirely and make the wheels free running so you can run doubleheaders? If an engine looks THAT good, why make it stay still? People LOVE classic steam (I am no exception)!

This Berkshire is the loco that did the sound effects for the Polar Express movie. I took this pic when it arrived in Standish MI for their Depot Days celebration in October 2005.

I don't think you understand. The bearing seat for one of the drive wheels is cracked, so when the loco moves, whether under it's own power, pushed, pulled, whatever, the driver at that location fails, slips out of alignment and locks up the whole show. It can be fixed, but I could buy another loco just like it for what it would cost.

That's an very impressive engine w8! As we were discussing in chat last night, this was the model for the computer animated engine in the movie The Polar Express. I'm a big fan of the original book by Chris Van Allsburg, and looking at the cover illustration I'm quite sure the engine in his illustrations was actually a Mountain. Ah.. Hollywood does it again! :D

All the same, it's a fantastic movie, and a stunning re-creation of the Berkshire (even if it is the wrong engine!)
