Okay, I added in the Diesel Fuling Facility and used the Walhters Interstate Fuel and Oil buildings to make the facility a lil bigger. I also added in 5 of the Walthers Large Horizontal Storage Tanks that come in the Industrial Tank Set.

I had to modify the benchwork slightly down in that area to fit it in.

**EDIT** Something happend with the last one I posted, some of the tracks tunred green for mainline when they shouldnt have (the whole custom warehouse complex, cement complex, half the oil refinery, Mill Buildings as well as the shop building spur turned green lol), dont know how that happend lol so I will post the new one but leave the old one up for the descriptions on the Diesel Fueling Facility as I deleted the txt and dont want to retype it all lol

Now to work on that sharp curve over by the dresser

Okay I fixed that curve by the lower right dresser coner over by the Heritage Furniture and Armstrong Electric Motors buildings are. Its much better now, its still tight but it is better and I dont think that I could get it any better then that until it comes down to actually laying the track in that spot

DresserCurveRe-done2.jpg

I widend the shelf behind the dresser 1" so I could do the S type curve.

looks like the plan is comin along great josh :thumb:.your second passing siding in front of the refinery could also be attached to your double main to make it longer and not hav that tight s-curve from the 2 opposing switches.and i think you could remove the heritage furniture on the corner though,it just looks kinda akward to me...--josh

Thanks Josh for the suggestions, I might consider moving that switch on the second run-around like you said.

As for the Heritage Furnature building beeing right there, its kinda hiding the track that goes behind the dresser so I think I like it right there all tho I do agree with you, it does look kinda akward and out of place right there :eek:ops:

here is the benchwork with all its measurements without any buildings or track on it to give a more clear picture

Wow - that's a lot of railroad in a small space!! My only suggestion would be to get rid of the double building above the yard and extend the yard tracks. Or you could turn it into a backdrop building. Or, if you're using it as a sort of view block, maybe just have a single building there.

aahhhhhhhhh, thats it!!!!! Thanks Val, thats a great idea, use a backround building right there, I wasnt too happy with the Mill raea anyhow, I could put another backround building right there and have the track come from the yard, great idea, thanks    and Ill get a little longer yard out of it too

Josh, I did a little figuring and it looks like an 18" radius will just barely fit where the 10" shelf by the door enters the 5" shelf behind the dresser.... just barely!

alright sweet, I used flex track right there but ill try and add in the 18" radius snap track right there on the plan, I would rather it look more uniform then having one end look sharper then the other, thanks Gary  :thumb:

Hmmm.... you could always shave off some of the sheetrock there on the corner of the wall.... just to give a little more clearance

Gary I changed it to 18" radius, you were right, it does just barely fit but hey it fits :thumb:

hehehehehehe yeah I could

I just had to make the heritage furniture building a little shorter for the curve to fit in properly, no big deal, im glad that head ache is solved

Josh, what are you going to put in that big corner lower left? How about a city scene, perhaps a little higher than the rest of the layout? Or an large industrial complex?

Also, where's your yard lead? I don't see one. You can extend the green track down to the wall, and that will solve that problem. :D

hehehe Ive been working on your idea (the one you posted a few posts ago; post #65) for the last hour and I got it figured out, I made another run-around track and also re-did alot of the mainline in the space that was blank in my last post.

I added in 2 of the Walthers George Roberts Printing Buildings and also made it custom by adding in a 2 story extention to the building. I added the walther Plant No. 4 backround building to the complex too at the very bottom left corner. I also added in afew more horizontal storage tanks in the Fueling Facility since some space was still left when I was done re-working the mainline down there.

Here is the plan as of right now with all of your suggestions in it:

Got another suggestion to add in an engine shop near the Fuel Facility in that open space on the front of the layout so I did lol, I added in and engine shop from Rix Products :Atkinson Engine Facility

Made it double long to serve those BIG engines by combineing 2 kits together. also connected it back to the staging yard too.

I like that track plan, 'cept for one thing: your bed is right next to the staging yard, and then there's that little track overhang there right on the bed's end. May I suggest you try to add in elevated staging? that way you don't have to worry about hitting the staging yard in your sleep.

Thanks CNWman!!

I see your point about the staging yard, my bed is pretty low to the ground so there will be a pretty good sized gap between the bottom of the shelf and my bed so in a way its already elevated lol. I do need to fix the small part at the end of staging where it over hangs, thanks for pointing that out :thumb:

I think the layout is pretty much done!!!!!! (planning that is hehehehe) Unless anyone else can see something that I should change? This is going to be my master plan

A big Thanks again to everyone who has posted comments and suggestions in this thread, I couldnt have done it without you guys, specially you Gary :thumb:
