Canada, eh?
That is a "Little Joe" built to go to russia, but not sent from what I hear because of the cold war. The Chicago South Shore at one time had 3 of them and one was saved and in the B&O museum. I think CSS was under the Chessie banner if not someone will let us know for sure. I think the Milwaukee Road had some too. Not sure if anyone else had them.
Charlie

Charlie, there were 20 of those locos built. Besides the three that the CSS&SB got, 12 went to the Milwaukee, and the other 5 to the Paulista Railway, in Brazil. Man, you must have some collection of photos!! I'm glad that you're sharing them with us, though. :-D

I sure don't know whats a goin on here..
Those boys at the Shops has got to be behind this!

wait a minute..Hey Deano, is Big Ed behind this???sign1
Dog gone it Mark, i was going to wait till i took some more pics to reply to this thread, but your calling me out, and with the FANTASTICALLY AWESOME UP ENGINES YOU HAVE BEEN POSTING, i MUST reply:mrgreen: .

first things first:
1- did you just come across some NEW UP engines?
2- have i FINALLY convinced someone to come on MY SIDE of the tracks, and you have been converted to a...UP FAN!:eeki::mrgreen::eek::119:
3- SERIOUSLY, i TOTALLY LOVED the SD40-2's pic Mark:thumb::mrgreen: , NOT just because it had those UP's, but it was a REALLY GREAT SHOT!:bravo: .
4- when i seen your SD40-2 shot, i had to do a double take and check if any of the 5 SD40-2's i have was...STOLEN:eeki: , CRIPES MARK, the weathering on the bottom of them, and i use the EXACT SAME PLOWS as #3642 has really had me wondering:winki::mrgreen: .
5- AS FOR the SD45#14, we DO have an SD45 on the Rock Valley Sub:eeki: ....but its #16:119: , so i don't think its Big Ed:toug: , though i haven't seen him for two days.... , he could be out getting some new power:rolleyes::119: .

Mark, i really don't know whats going on, but i am liking what i am seeing:thumb::mrgreen: , THANK YOU! for posting those shots:winki::mrgreen: .

****************************************************
Tom, GREAT ROLL-BY!!!:thumb::thumb::thumb: those Reading passenger cars look GREAT!:thumb::thumb::thumb:

*****************************************************
MY PART....
THIS weekend I'll be going to the FIRST show in my area:yep::yep::yep: , of coarse Big Ed will be with me:119: , so there could be NEW motive power on the Rock Valley Sub THIS WEEKEND!:eeki::mrgreen:

The Riverside Railroad
can't wait Deano! I always like any kind of old engine (which reminds me, I need an SD40-2 for some truly 'modern power one of these days, either a Rio Grande or UP, or a patch Rio Grande :p)

Deano: Sorry no converts here, so Big Ed didnt have anything to do with this ,hmmm, it's got to be those boys in the Shops!
Glad you liked them, They belong to my son, he did all the work on them when he was 14, but then came girls and cars , and the trains were put away till I drug them out...:p

CNWman: better keep a close eye out, ya just never know:twisted:

TexDoc, NICE SHOT!:thumb: , those SP's look GREAT going through the middle of nowhere, just like 90% of trains are, running out where we cant see 'em:winki::mrgreen: . VERY NICE!:thumb:

Mark, was your son a UP fan? real nice engines there:thumb: , do you have any more UP's? BTW, Big Ed has been through the whole UP system, could have been shots of his travels before he joined on here at the Rock Vally sub:winki::mrgreen: .

CNWman, SD40-2's modern power?....as opposed to what? they have been around since the 70's:winki: . the SD70's are what is being called the NEW SD40-2's:winki: . the SD40-2's were BAR NONE the most reliable all around best diesel engines made:winki::mrgreen: , MANY are still used on class A roads, and even more are used on short lines today:thumb: . though for TODAYS needs, the SD70's are just as reliable, and more suited for here and now on class A roads:thumb: .

you mentioned getting a Rio Grande engine:thumb: , the Rio Grande paint scheme with the LARGE "speed letters" is one of the best paint schemes i have ever seen:winki::mrgreen: .

i seen you have acquired a BL2:thumb: (VERY COOL engines:winki: ), i always really liked them(sharks too:mrgreen: ), my problem is i don't model any of the roads that have them:frowns: , and I'm kinda a stickler for prototypes:eek:ops: so i just cant find it in me to paint the brand new BL2(and shark) i have in UP colors...so mine are still just sitting in their boxes:eek:ops: . :deano: -Deano
