Halinski Bismarck 1/100 Scale

Hello to the Group,

I began my professional life in the Army. One of the more humorous
items I remember was about Airborne School. The School was 3 weeks
long. The first week they separated the men from the boys. The second
week they separated the boys from the idiots. The third week the idiots
got to jump.

In paper ship modeling hull construction will separate the men from the boys.

Here is my first attempt at the hull.

People like me who build small models are susceptible to being impressed by large projects like this. It boggles our imagination!

Pardon the interruption, but can anybody suggest a small and simply Bismarck kit. I.e. One I could reduce in scale to make tiny.

It is a door.
The picture is turned sideways.
See the small can of oil to the left? (Could also be charcoal lighter fluid?)
That's the bottom of the door and the can helps to put the picture in perspective.:mrgreen:

I am new here on the forum. I have been wanting to build a large scale model of the Bismarck for several years but have not been able to locate any plans or kits. I found the Hachette "Build the Bismarck" site but they refuse to sell to me since I do not live in the UK. Oh, well, their loss.
So, I am researching more on the Bismarck and trying to find plans and came across this site : kbismarck dot org. It is a nice Bismarck forum and has some plan references. That led me here : moduni dot de/products. I can't tell if these are laser cut paper or wood. The instructions are in Polish, but alas, I only speak dumb olé English. I then did a Google search for Halinski (the publisher of the paper or wood laser cut pieces from the above mentioned website) Bismarck and that led me here to this forum. Hopefully someone will read this as I just noticed that the last post was June of '07. I seek a little direction on what to do or how I should proceed in obtaining the most accurate blueprints or other diagrams that might help me in my endeavor.

I have seen, on the german forums I think, where they have filled the spaces between the bulkheads with the canned sealing foam,great stuff. You can get it at Home Depot. They then sand it back to the bulkheads and this makes a very good skin support. BILL

Been awhile since I have posted. Really glad to see this coming together. A few months ago I laminated the former/hull frame to 1mm card for the Super Model Bismark, 1/200 scale. That was as far as I got on her, but watching you, has made me want to start cutting and gluing up the frame. I also have the GPM version Bismarck. Look forward to your postings as you build.

Do not feel bad, I did not notice the date either. So look for a near future thread on the building of the Super Model Bismarck in 1/200 scale. Have the frame work laminated and am assembling now. Will post a new thread from the completion of the frame work until finished. This is a kit from 1993 and does not have the look of a Halinski, but it is a different version of the Bismarck with enough detail to make it interesting. I am not aware of any other threads for this build. So all is not lost for those wanting a Bismarck build.
