Good morning folks

It has been more comfortable the last couple of days compared to this past weekend. The humidity has been lower and so have the temperatures. It was 66 F when I rolled out of the driveway this morning. High today is expected to be 85 F. My son’s football team finally broke into two teams. He is now a member of the Drexel Hill Raiders Midget JV Silver team. Hi team has about 17 kids which means they should all get a good amount of playing time. If they kept the group together they would have about 30 kids on one team which is too many to have each kid get a fair amount of playing time.

I began weathering wheels for my next round of car weathering. This round I am weathering 7 Atlas Trainman 70 ton 9 panel hoppers and 4 Atlas cylindrical hoppers.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good morning folks

It was only 70 F this morning but the humidity seems to be creep upwards which is making it feel a little uncomfortable. High today is supposed to reach 86 F. It is hard to believe in less than a week the kids will be back in school. Where did the summer go?

No modeling last night.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Unfortunately, it was "only" 111 here yesterday. That ties the record of 28 days of over 110 in a season. Today and tomorrow is forecast for the same. We've had 93 days over 100 this year, not a record though. That was back in 1989 when there were 143 days over 100. You realize that's almost five months of searing heat?

A great time to stay indoors and work on my layout. I finally got most of my range of motion back in my right arm (it's still painful, but it works) so I pulled up all the track and ballast that I needed to and am now trying to fix the turnouts that I took off. Got to order new turnouts and flex track today...

I made a small upgrade to the layout and bought a TPC 300 and another Cab 1. I going to put TMCC control on the elevated section.

I was in Zelienople and stopped at Mcormicks Hardware. There stock was smaller than I expected but had more choice than what you would expect. While I was there I bought a few other things also. I wanted another 180 Brick but though since I was going to pass Brady's It would give me an excuse to stop.

Well just my luck they were out and they are on BACKORDER. I should of just bought the one at Mcormicks.

I think it will be cool to have to Cab1's so my daughter and I can both have some fun. I think I'm the only one that must love MTH engines but loves TMC so much that I keep expanding the system.

Good morning folks

The temperatures are going up. It will be 89 F for the high today. It also feels like the humidity is rising also. It was 71 F as I pulled out of the driveway this morning.

I added some trees and foliage to the ridge behind the farm house on the layout.

Tonight will be busy. We have a Cub Scout Council Open House to attend. The event is an opportunity to get information on scouting events. Many local organizations that host scouting events, like the Philadelphia Soul, Philadelphia Phantoms, Philadelphia Zoo, etc will be in attendance so we can get information about them.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Not much news here. Weather wise, we now have a new record of 29 days of over 110 in a year. It was 113 yesterday and expected to get up to 111 today. Now that's beginning to get tiresome, even for us that have lived in the desert for a long time. We need a break from this heat.

I got nothing done on my trackwork yesterday.... maybe today.

Morning all, well I'm a slacker....haven't done anything with my layout in several months. Haven't got much done with the house. Didn't get much fishing in. Scuba took up much of my summer. I even got to dive on a sunken log car that went throught the ice many years ago. It seems that in north central Mn there was some logging done and in the winter they pulled empty cars back across the ice on sleds with track on them. This was done to free up the single track bridge to handle loaded traffic. Well they lost one and a historical group is working with MN to see about recovering it. The dive shop where I do business is more than likley going raise it so I got to go on a dive to look it over! When I know more or can get some pics I'll update this!

This weekend 6 out of 7 kids will be here with all the grandkids so it will be a busy weekend. Nine grand kids now and one more on the way, it's like a rabbit factory around here! The other one who will not be home is almost done with a hitch in the Navy. He will be home to stay on the 7th! He is a train lover too so maybe this fall I'll have some help with the stairs and the layout!

Now if VA will decide what to do about my knees maybe I can get up and down the stairs better to work on the layout...I'm trying to figure this out....i'm 52....2 different ortho docs say my knees are worn out....both agree that I need new knees....both are saying that I need to wait till I'm about 65 before they would want to do that?????

Have a great day everyone!

Now that doesn't make sense, except that it's an excuse to wait until you get on Medicare and they don't have to foot the bill. I'm with you on bad knees, that's why we live in a single-story house.

Oh, in case anyone's interested, here's Foxnew's account of our heat situation here. I guess it's better than having floods, hurricanes and tornadoes, but it's still hard to take.

Hey everyone:wave:
Today was a nice 80 degrees, with some dark clouds on the horizon. Yes that's right, 80 degrees:p Got some Microscale decals ordered for the Hustler through my LHS DCCTrain (thanks for the links again, jefelectric!) should come in next week hopefully. Got some aging done on the elevator, but still a good little bit to do:rolleyes:.

Cheers,
