I take it you like his stuff, I mean in your pics it looks good. Do you find the paint on the drums ect of good quality?

Heck yeah, I love his stuff. The painting jobs are really nice too, for the most part, there straight lines and they look great.

Just do what I said to the Jersey Barriers in the last PM I sent you and those will come out looking sweet too.

BTW, thanks for the compliment about the rocks, I like it too and it should look better when it is all the way down to the bridge.

Awesome work Josh, keep it up!

Thanks Josh!!

Finished the rest of the embankment on the Construction Zone side (left of the bridge). I really like how it turned out. Here are some pics:

So the left side of the bridge is pretty much done as far as the embankment goes, the only thing left to do is add a few trees

Thanks Josh!! I just got the right embankment covered in ground cover. Gonna snap some pics before I start the rocks up by the track. I am really pleased with how the right embankment came out, theres some cool spots that should look pretty cool once I get the rocks in place

Ill post some pics in a bit :thumb:

Lets see some more.
Looking Good.

Thanks 88

wow I have done so much in the past 2 days!! I need to take some more pics, ill do that tomorrow when theres sunlight.

Since the last pics I have:
  • finished the right embankment (groundcover, bushes and rocks)
  • painted the roads
  • painted the area for the asphalt plant (still need to lay fravel down)
  • touched up the areas below the embankments
  • started adding the barriers and cones for the construction site.
  • installed in utility poles
I dont have the camera readaly available anymore (im back home and not at my grandparents lol) so I havnt been taking pics as I go for the above stuff I have completed but I should be able to snap some pics tomorrow

Stay Tunned, theres still plenty of stuff that still has to be done to complete this diorama

Quite honestly, Trucklover, large, piled, boulders and rip-rap are typically found at the bottom of an fill embankment, not the top. Track ballast would likely be the largest stone, or stone fill, found atop such a location. Placing really big rocks at the top would usually create an unstable situation, especially with heavy trains passing by regularly.

Like It lots; still got a few honey-dews (yuftis, in my native Scotland) to finish and I can get on with my layou.
Next board planned is "everything a man could want"; a hamburger/pizza joint, a Buds&Suds bar and laundrette (got the idea from one next to the old Corvette Museum in Bowling Green) and an adult book store. If there's room I may get an RV with some ladies of the night under the trees.

Okay guys, been quite a long time and im now like 99% done with it :eek:ops:  still need to add a chain-link fence for the asphalt plant and finish off the small spot that is still plywood on the right side of the underpass in the asphalt complex

Sorry no pics in a while

Ive done a lot on this diorama.

Here is some pics to show some of the scenes that I could set up on this. I also need to find a better spot to take pics lol. Member, I built this to take pics of my weathered trains, trucks and construction equipment so the pics that I take on this for now on will all me close-ups and look like its more of a layout then a small board   :thumb:

Wow Josh! I just found this thread, and love it! Makes me want to go and build something similar for my trains, since my wife is being an unmentionable word about me bringing the trains here. And she wonders why I spend so much time on the computer, DUH!

Anyway, back to topic...This is a great scene, and you have taken some great pics there! Look forward to seeing more closeups on it

That's awesome! Great detail. I think some of that construction equipment needs some muddy tires! I need to find me some of those traffic cones in N scale.
