I'll start off this week's photo fun thread:mrgreen:

Here is a progress pic of my 'Hustler'.
000_00021.JPG

I like to call this Hustler an 'ex-nincompoop central', because the preveous owner painted the entire shell with gold (a metalic paint), and so the engine wouldn't run because the shell conducted the electricity, and so the ex-owner damaged the engine, and thus put it into the junk box where I would find it.

Shot no.2: CNW 4056 and Conrail 1992 head a local freight while CNW 4242 idles on the siding.
000_0005.JPG

Fun fact: the real CNW 4242 was actualy an ex-Conrail the CNW bought circa 1980.

cool pictures guys!

My E60MA is just about wrapping up... In addition to the details i installed last time, the horn is added, although you can't see it. I added headlights, class lights, sand fillers, wind deflectors (which need to be painted), antennas, and strobes. I just need to fix the decal, (or maybe not, since the real thing had all sorts of holes in it's paint job) and just clean it up alittle. Its brand new, but looks dusty already. Most of the work is internal now, such as wiring up the decoders and the frame.

I'm also detailing my NJ transit cab car. Finally! it looks like more then a commuter car with extra windows! I still need to add more to it, but i've added a horn, strobes, and side number boards like the prototype Comet II car. I plan to put a TF4 decoder in it, to light it up eventually.;

Another great looking photo thread this week! I'm lovin' the pics of all the bridges, both outdoors and inside. I'm fond of CNW road photos because they remind me of the year I lived in Marshalltown, IA and watched trains in their yard. Jeffrey, I like your collection of motive power and forgot about that terrific rusting steamer scene. Thanks for another look. And, East Coast Amtrak and commuters? Gotta know that this former NYer loves them too!

Another shot from the freelanced line from me this time. A Kingsport & Western local is about to cross the grade at West Mill, a riverside community that boasts a big cement plant and a rail car ferry operation. There is also a small business district near the tracks as you can see.

G.E.C. - I always like seeing pics of your passanger fleet, and the close-ups are really nice and clear :thumb: :thumb:

Wayne - Some FANTASTIC shots. I love those bridges, they are so big and they just dominate the scene. Nice steamers too, I like the first shot the best cause you can see the higher bridge in the foreground and the backround

Great start to this weeks thread. Lots of fantastic pics from everyone:thumb:
I too would like to apologize for not posting in last weeks thread. I was in the process of switching over ISPs and it took a lot longer than I thought it would. I'm back up and running again..

Caught this Eastbound gliding downgrade behind the S&T Farm House.

Great shots everyone!

Deano- the Hustler repair project has had everything go wrong with it. The engine has had the grounding wire broken off, the wheels were unbelevably dirty, the shims broken (not to mention geting the worm drivers off was a pain in the :curse:), and like I said, the metalic gold paint on the shell was problematic, too. As a result, I had to paint the entire shell, inside and out, with a non-metalic paint (in this case, acrilic black) As I show here:

(I missed a few spots, but the overall conductivity has been killed)
and the other side:

Come to think of it, my black Hustler looks afully similar to a certain Anthropomorphic BR-04 desiel...

Say, do any of you guys have Hustlers? Just curious.

When I was a little kid, my dad had a hustler with the rubber band drive. I remember that thing could do Mach 3 if you cranked it up. He still has it but who knows which box it is buried in as he has had all of his trains packed away for many years now.

Central New Engalnd's neighbor and interchange partner, The Housatonic( a real railroad here in Connecticut, that actually uses two miles of the real Central New Englands old mainline), stops off at CNE's engine shop, an old New Haven roundhouse in Winsted.
