Mike, nice start on that layout. If I may, however, just a suggestion to improve the scenes. Tone down/blend the bricks and motar lines on some of your buildings with several dark washes, so that the mortar lines are much less obvious. In the real world, on older brick structures, mortar lines aren't very apparent at any significant distance unless a section of the brickwork has recently been pointed-up. Don't fret about it, though, it's a typical error that most modelers make.

By example of how to make things look closer of the prototype, look at the weak motar lines on the brick structure in the foreground at right to see what I mean. With age, the color of the brick generally stains the motar, giving it a hue not greatly different from that of the brick, plus there's a buildup of dirt and grime.

I like it, especially that cement/brick industry behind the bridge.

CNJ, could you go a little more in depth on how to make brick look like that?

I will typically start out airbushing the entire structure a "brick color", which I vary in hue from one occasion to the next. Once dry, I give the building a wash of highly diluted and "wet" Polly Scale Antique White, or perhaps a light grey, depending on the brick color. This fills in the mortar lines and fades the brick color at the same time. Once this is dry, I will weather the building by airbrushing it irregularly and lightly with diluted Grimmy Black.

When all these applications are fully dry, I apply a final bit of dramatic realism. I strain regular light-colored dirt through a women's nylon hose. The powdery result I apply to the building (heavier toward the base, lighter higher up) using a women's large make-up brush. This softens all the colors just right, ages them and changes the scene from one composed of plastic models to, I feel, one of prototype structures viewed at a distance. The transformation is really quite striking in person.
