What's Wrong With This Picture????

Yes, I really want to know if you can spot anything wrong with the modeling in this picture. (Not the picture on the wall in the background.) Confine you comments to the module and the models themselves. There should be plenty of things to find wrong...so let the "fun" begin. This is a test of your observation skills.

Well I always thought I was pretty observative but the only thing I see is that the boxcar looks to be a slightly larger scale than the locomotives.

That You maybe right about that Boxcar TrainNut....it does look a lil big....but there has to be something else too.

**EDIT** Its the bridge that is out of scale! it has to be an HO scale Girder Bridge.

Errr I thought they'd broken down, which is of course why there's no lights :)

And there's a crease in the sky...

That's the biggie! I was wondering how long it would take for someone to notice. There are other things too, but that is the one I was waiting to hear.

I am in the process of converting some modules from HO to N and I was hoping that I could get away without having to remove the HO bridge. To the casual observer it will probably not be to evident, but I wanted to test it out on your experts!

Other things wrong? Sure! There is no ballast on the track. The two engines have the same number. There is no engineer in the locomotive. The engines are operating without a headlight. There is no vegetation on the hills...wait a minute, it could be Nevada! The lead truck on the second engine is not on the track....just kidding.

Now see, I just call those things self criticism!
No ballast, well that's just a work in progress, not necessarily something wrong. Now if you'd have ballasted with HO ballast instead of N scale ballast, that could be something wrong but you would have needed a much higher resolution picture to notice... just like the engines with the same numbers. I know the colors but I can't even make out the Union Pacific lettering on the side much less the numbers.
No lights on and no engineer - Heck, that train could be stopped cold in it's tracks with the engineer using the Jon... or it could be backing up.
No vegetation? That looks just like lotsa places I've seen!
Which brings me to that final point, your overall presentation is excellent and I think it would pass all but the most scrutinous eyes.
However, if your exhibiting it at a rivet counters conference, ye best look out!
Now that you've shown a view from higher up, I think the thing that bugs me the most is the distance between the tracks.

I don't plan to leave the track that far apart. Actually, it will be a three track module. The third track hasn't been laid yet in the picture that I had available.

Here is a picture showing track work leading up to this module. These modules were also previously HO modules.

Interesting study. I didn't notice the girder bridge until it was pointed out; the first thing I picked up was that there wasn't (yet) any ballast.

You're probably right that the bridge is too large for N Scale, but I am pretty sure that the sizes of the girders aren't all the same on the prototype. You can probably change to a nicer looking more to scale size bridge at some point if you want (see Rule #1) but I think you have a decent stand in for now.

I believe for girder bridges, the ratio of span to girder height is the same for any scale.
Information in "Bridges and Trestles" (Model Railroader) is as follows:

Span Height
110'-0' 10'-0"
90'-0" 9'-4"
70'-0" 8'-0"
50'-0" 6'-6"
30'-0" 5'-9"
Hope this helps.
