Which regions/areas do you model?

Ah, I see that the Aussies have the same problem as us South Africans- OVERPRICED rollingstock and motive power.

Alex, have you thought of any logos yet, as a matter of interest, that idea sounds cool!?

I'm planning on modelling the line behind my back yard and next to my parents farm. I'd model the area I grew up in, but it would be kind of boring - no tracks or trains for miles. :)

you mean for the BS idea? It looks pretty much like the old BN logo, only with the N substituted by a S.sign1sign1sign1

btw, yes, i know the feeling of expensive stuff.

I model the Pacific Northwest, loosely based on Vancouver, BC. I just love the scenery and the area in general. I've only visited once, but fell in love with the area.

I used to model the colorado extension of the NKP...now I've broken it up into my two favorites:

1884 Denver, South Park, and Pacific in On3...that's Colorado.
1948 Nickel Plate Road (that's Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois).

DSP&P for I've visited it's old area three times...and I absolutely love the scenery, the engines, the paint jobs, the freight cars, the buildings...
NKP because I was riding 765 excursions before I even departed my mother's womb...And I love their Hudsons!

I model what I like and what is easy for me to do my self. My gosh I just said model. I really don’t consider it modeling at all. In any event I fell for the red and black sergeants stripes of the Canadian National. The red and black simple needs no other marks to identify the rail name. Few others can say the same.

The country and farm setting was a natural. First it is far easier to do and nothing looks better than a big CN consist running through fields of green.

So easy even a cave man can do it.:thumb::mrgreen:

If you've ever been down to Tower A, they have a picture of the 490 at Cincinnati Union Terminal...it's a great picture...it's prior to the 490's rebuild when it went from a pacific to a 90% new hudson.

Yup... Both rr's that could claim to be Canada's "national" line (one even has "national" in its name... ;)), one doesn't have any tracks in two out of ten provinces, and none in two of three territories either. The other misses all three territories and 4 provinces. The one with national in the name used to run in all provinces...
