I’m still here but I have been rather busy the past few weeks. I took a few weeks off to train with the girls. My oldest is a 100 meter sprinter/ volleyball and my youngest is playing basketball / soccer. The youngest is in a summer league for basketball and a year round soccer team.

So I have been having fun bike riding every day we make two trips of twenty miles each day except when they have either a basketball game or volleyball game. I don’t know where they get their skills. I was not particularly good at basketball though I did swim throughout my life and was a decent 500-meter swimmer. Each is very good in their sport with the youngest a starting guard that is among the best in the tri county area.

It has been fun but I don’t know where they get the energy to devote so much of their time to sports. I know if I had to do this I wouldn’t play any sports. The icing on the cake is neither girl has ever received anything but an A in school.

While my oldest daughters summer volleyball team is struggling this season my youngest basketball team is cruising into the playoffs with only one loss. I regret with the start of a new job I will miss her first basketball games, which are the playoffs, and championship game. They have five basketball games left this week.

Yeah I’m bragging some but that is what I have been doing. I still get an opportunity to browse through the forums but I generally can’t find so much to say lately.

Jeffrey, I personally hadn't posted 'cause on my side there kept comming a message up saying Database error, don't know if anyone else experienced this.
That should be all cleared by now. We were down all day Sunday while Peter moved the database and make some other changes. Let us know if anyone is still getting errors, we need to know that.

BTW, our "monsoon" season is here. We got our first real rain at our house in about three months. It poured for almost two hours, at least one inch of rain, possibly two.:thumb: :thumb: It's strange, but we could get flooding in one area of town, and absolutely nothing in another part. Just ask TrainNut, it was pouring at my house and not a drop near his house closer to the center of town. Yet they had problems at the airport just a few miles to the south.

Good morning everyone,

I also tried to post, but got the error message. Looks like we are back in business.

Renovo, Glad to hear you and family are OK. Sounds like you are enjoying your time off.

Just watered our small veggie garden, pretty dry here. We get a lot of clouds and threatening weather but very little rain. The recent cool weather has been nice though.

Not much train action lately, Did stop at Barry's Train Shop yesterday and had a nice chat with Mike. He gave me all the details of the recent TCA convention in Denver. Said it was very well organized and the tours were great.

Well it's only 3 months till the York Show. Fall is on the way.

Jeffrey, That is a nice paint job. Wish I had the talent for that.

Take care,

Good afternoon folks

It has been one of those days. I have been putting out fires all morning at work and I am trying to hide so I can have lunch in peace. Our weather seems to changing again. The muggies are coming back. High today is supposed to be around 87 F.

No modeling last night. We are hosting a Cub Scout Leaders’ Meeting tonight at our house so we were running around getting some last minute supplies.

Tony
It looks like you are making some good progress!

I hope everybody has a good day.

The next three weeks are pretty busy so I guess I will post even less than I have over the past two weeks. Though I do know that I getting closer to the shipping date for my new K-Line PRR Hammerhead diesel. Now trust me a new engine will not irritate anyone.

I guess this is where I do the weather thing now.
¾ inches of rain and in the low 70’s.

Good morning folks

It is just plain sticky out there this morning. The clouds are building so we may get some rain later. When I pulled out of the driveway it was 75 F. Our high should be 87 F. After about a month of trying my son’s hamster died last evening. Both he and his sister took it hard. They have both been working so hard to care for the hamster and to get her well. We thought we were Okay two weeks ago when she started acting normal. Then two nights ago she suddenly took a bad turn.

No modeling last night.

This weekend will be busy. Tomorrow we have our Cub Scout Pack Picnic. We also have to do our bi-weekly grocery expedition. We need to pick up a few things for our vacation coming up in 10 days. Also we need to take my son and get him new football cleats and practice pants since practice starts Monday.

On the layout I have farm buildings to attach and driveways to make. On the workbench I have seven tank cars to finish weathering.

II just saw the ad in this month's Model Railroader (Ralph you don't need to hear this:mrgreen:) and those Penn Central Athearn Genesis F7 locos look sweet. I can hear my wallet crying now.

I hope everybody has a good day.

HOWDEE, mighty proud to be back. Got in yesterday afternoon and immediately had to start watering as no rain. Then had to cook [grilled chickens, boil little red potatoes, cook squash, cut tomatoes and fix cucumbers]. Grandson came [he still is not eating solid foods, his Mom and Grandmom had a fit when I put his passie in Coolwhip and stuck it back in his mouth :thumb:]. Had to feed Youngest Daughter and SIL. They flew out to Boston for a wedding this AM early. That is if the plane could get off the ground. Youngest had more luggage, carset, stroller and etc. Probably filled the cargo bay. Send rain. Got to get busy. Rifles to clean and then work on layout. Later
