Who likes foreign railroads/railways?

While my favorites are American railroads, I love British railways, enjoy German railroads, and a variety of others.

I've nabbed German HO & British OO trains while on vacation.

I know that technically Canadian Railways are foreign for me, but I prefer to say American rather than US Railroads so I can include those purty Royal Hudsons and such .

I like European railways, specially 1930's German steam engines.
On my layout I get the best of both worlds, I run Atlas N scale CPR GP9 or TH&B GP7 one day and Fleischmann DB 86 the next one.
That's the beauty of standards, as long as the gauge is Nine mm. , everything goes.

Sounds cool! I consider foreign to be a relative term.

Mad Hatter, since I recall you mentioning a soft spot for UP, I'd say you like foreign stuff! I personally find 42" gauge 2-8-4s and such to be pretty cool...so you know I have a soft spot for South African trains.

I agree Biased Turkey, I like being able to send my OO gauge 0-6-0 around my old HO layout...nearly bought a HOm 0-6-2t.

Well, The Gauge/ Zealot is the best place to be if you wanna see stuff from all over the world. In actual fact I'd say eventually one will just need to come here and look for whatever info you need, since lots of people know what they're talking about and have lot's of individual pics.

A friend of mine has a HO layout that runs around his garage, the buildings, stop blocks, etc. are all German. But he runs his SAR stuff now and then.

We are actually going to build a new SAR layout in his son's (also my friend) room, which will be around the walls. The German layout will stay German and the new layout will be for the SAR stuff.
