Bought this trailertrain set from Alan Curtis years ago, but had no layout.
Now part of track down I did a testrun with this cars.
Problem is the little hole in the cars to catch the pin in front of the trailer seems to be to small. Do I need to drill this out or should I cut the pin on the trailers and glue them on the cars.
Sorry I don't now the correct names of the thingie on the TTX cars, neither the name of the thingie on the trailers front.
Question is how you fix them ?

Thanks,
Paul

The thing on the spine car in the red circle, does not fit the pin on the trailer, see pic.
Oops no pic, zealot keeps telling me Database error when I upload a picture as an attachment. The pic is .jpg and 125 kb size, so normal this should work.:curse:

There are several threads here over the past few weeks addressing this issue. Right now that function doesn't work. You must post to the Gallery or some off-site location and link to the picture. Peter has been waiting for a hardware upgrade before he attacks this problem. The good news is that the hardware upgrade is in progress and is probably implemented by now.:thumb::thumb:

Paul, the problem your having is that the hitchpin on the trailer does not fit in the hole ion the trailer hitch of the rail car.

What you need to do is ream out the hole on the trailer hitch so that the pin on the trailer is slightly snug.

You can do this with the correct size drill bit in a handheld pin vise or just simply use an exacto knife to lightly ream out the opening.

The idea is to make the hitchpin fit with out being sloppy which will help keep the car and trailer together.

Paul, The trick I've used in the past to enlarge most any small hole is not use a drill bit as the sharp edges seem to catch and bite out to much material. Instead find the smallest diameter circular ( rat-tail ) file you can find and turn counter-clockwise in the hole and retry repeatedly until it's the correct size hole !

Thanks you for the help.
Joe Tomorrow I'll see if I have a rat-tail file that small, otherwise I'll try Johnathans advise with the exacto knife.
Keep you informed.
Thanks,
Paul

Job done.
I used a 2mm drill and sloooowly drilled out the hitch.
The trailers keep fixed while rolling on the layout.
Thanks,
Paul
