Sorry gang I am so late getting here. Busy this AM. got errands done and haircut. Went to Miss Edna's [Todd's Train Depot]. Took the gang squash, cucs and tomatoes. This PM, put cord in new/old ZW. Ran some trains to see how it would do. John F has a great farm in PA. Grandkids have prize cows and goats. Nice place with greenhouse and garden out back. Now it is popcorn time.

Good evening,

Just like the chief, went to early church and then went out for breakfast with friends. This afternoon went trap shooting with son & two grandsons. Yes all three of them outshot me. Son's best was 23 out of 25, both grandsons had 21 as a high and grandpa's best was a 16. Guess I can claim I tought them everything they know. :thumb: Shoulder is just a little sore, we shot 100 rounds each, actually the oldest grandson shot 125.

I am actually running trains as I type this. First I was running my looooong PRR coal train and the Reading T-1 pulling Passenger cars and milk cars along with an express reefer. These both were running on the long outside loop.

I am now running the new Weaver 2-8-0 (Lackawanna) pulling a mixed freight. This is actually a break in run. I run it forward for a while then reverse it and run it that way for a while. It has actually improved in operation in the 1/2 hour of operation so far. It was a little jerky at first.

Take care,

Ralph

Hello,

Still not much rain here in the Twin Cities. We did have a nice shower for a couple of hours several days ago but that was it. Went to Red Wing, MN yesterday to watch and photograph trains and river barges, and ALMOST photographed the Empire Builder but my camera battery died!!!!

Ralph should like these.
All the engines are prototypes taken from photos, the scenery is still in progress and the buildings still need there finishing details but its a work in progress.
Itsbeen a nice weekend hot and humid perfect for sitting in the house and working on the layout.

We've been having a glitch uploading photos directly to Gauge threads for a couple of weeks. Peter is working on it. Meanwhile, you can load up in the Gauge Gallery and link to your post or use a host site like photobucket.

Good morning folks

We had a big downpour last night. Now it looks like the hot and hazies are coming back. It is 74F now on its way to 86 F with a possibility of thunderstorms.

We had a busy weekend with the old grocery shopping expedition. We did go to see the new Harry Potter movie. Also spent some time mowing the grass and doing other yard work.

I finished coloring the wall on the layout and made good progress coloring the road near the farm house. I also began weathering wheels for the tank cars I am working on.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Tony,

Google photobucket and follow their directions for registering. Then you simply hit their "browse" button to hook up with the photos you have stored on your computer and upload them. Then, once uploaded, you copy the IMG tag and paste it in you threads on The Gauge. Check it out. Its pretty easy. I'm a computer cave man but found it simple to use.

Hi everyone,
Went to DCCTrain yesterday, my new LHS. The store kinda looked like the pics that stripes has been posting of his store. Only one guy was on staff, but he was able to help me tremendously. They've only been open one month the clerk said, but they already had a really nice inventory of engines, cars, and mic. stuff for HO and N scale. I wish I could have gotten even more, but I could only get a can of dullcoat, a 2-pair pack of Kadee no.5's , and a book on scenery. I plan on returning sometime, probably when I need DCC. Here's their site: www.dcctrain.com

A lot of use on other forums and this one too, use Shutterfly.com. Once you get your pictures downloaded, click and enlarge your photo, right click on photo, click on copy, come back to forum, click and paste. Good luck.

Chief, copy/paste doesn't work for me on the forum, I have to use the image icon at the top of the message page or type in the html tags. Have you used copy/paste here?

We're off to Northern Lower Michigan for about 2 weeks. Traverse Bay/ Interlochen for a base and an evening in Cadillac and another in Evart for the dulcimer fest. Much of the rest is free -- I will go to the train shop in TC.
Anyone else in the area? I'll be checking in occasionally if the laptop connects.
