Two new mods on board

Yeah, two, count them, two new mods. First we have TrainNut, he's going to take on the "Track Planning" forum, and is more than capable in that area. I know, I've seen his work.:thumb: Then there's RobertInOntario, he's our new guy on "The Real Thing -Canada" and should know a thing to two about that as well.:thumb:

Let's welcome them to the staff here and as usual, treat them good for a few hours anyway.sign1 sign1 Aw, lay off of they at least until tomorrow.

TranNut- does this mean that I can have you design my layout? I have some issues that need some help.
Robert- I don't have any Canadian rolliing stock or locos, but If I should get some, I will have questions, sure you will be able to set me straight.

It's nice to see people helping out like that; goodness knows, I don't.

Don: this might be a time to ask: does a moderator really have to be knowlegible about the area they're modding? or is more a monitoring job for major abuses?

It's nice when a mod has some knowledge about the topic of their forum, but they are really there to help get answers when no one else can help and, as you say, to just monitor what's going on. It's good, because a lot of times, a mod may have to do a bit of research to get the answer, and in doing so, they learn a bit more as well. The biggest job, and around here, the easiest one, is to make sure everything is running smoothly. it use to be that a large part of our time was dealing with spam, but Peter has tuned up the software and that's hardly an issue now. So for now, we just hang around the office getting fat off of the vending machines and sending out for pizza. :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Well, I must have passed the background security check or you wouldn't have gone and made this public I guess. And I'm still rubbing ink off my hands from the fingerprinting. I just hope you don't find out about that time that I went down to the....... uhm... well never mind about that!!!ops: I guess you wouldn't believe that becoming a moderator was like going through boot camp!! Crawling through the mud while repeatedly reciting The Gauge rules back while ezdays kept shouting at me was the worst!!!!
All kidding aside, while I am here to help keep the peace, I look at it as a humble position and not a position of power. I'm hoping there will be very little peacekeeping needed and look forward to sharing any and all knowledge that may be of use. That could take several minutes at the most!!!

I look forward to helping out as a moderator as I've sure enjoyed and benefited from this forum. Actually, I'm really amazed at all the info and referals (where to buy model train parts, decals, etc.) that I've learned from The Gauge.

I must confess, while I do model 1950s CN trains & belong to two Canadian heritage railways, I'm certainly not an expert. If I get stumped with any questions, though, I'm sure I can help research the answers. I know of lots of resources, The-Gauge members being one of them!
