Besides that "It's ALL Cannonball's fault".One more
Nothing different there. :D

"Whatever you all decide... We'll ask Cannonball to mod ALL the "Road" specific forums......
.... Since HE started this thread"!

Sure!
Do I get to shoot the spammers? :D :D

So is Mexico.
Actually, I think Mexico is part of Central America.
I think

Sorry, unless continental drift (and that's not a sideways-skidding Ford product) is working overtime, Mexico is still part of North America.

OK, not the first time I've been wrong. Shows ya what sleeping through Geology class will do. :D

Ok,my next question is,How did two new forum ideas end up being railroad specific FORUMS!

That is not what I said for those of you that did not read my post with your glasses on.As I recall (feel free to correct me here ) the idea was for railroad specific threads <-notice this word looks nothing like forum.

Nobody pays attention to you :D :D :D

My idea was for 1 new forum in "The real Thing... where we could have "railroad name specific threads" :) :)

We still might do that....

Then "you said":
How about "The Real Thing-Modeling North America's Railroads "

and

" The Real Thing-Modeling North America's Fallen Flags"

So YOU suggested 2 new forums :) :)

I'm just along for the ride :D :D You're the one with the Thinking cap!!!!

As far as a bunch of new forums, it ain't gonna happen, but I am serious about "If the Mod's Agree" -- asking Cannonball to mod these new forums IF we do it.....Remember - we're ONLY tossing around ideas here :D

How about instead of being exclusive to North America, we just make it

The Real Thing> Modeling Modern Railroads

And

The Real Thing> Modeling Fallen Flags.

I like the idea of a fallen flags.
Especially since my stuff is all CB&Q, BN, and ATSF. :D

Well, I don't know why we're even talking about this: if you look at the Gauge Forum Index Page, we've got most of these bases covered with the sub-section called Model Railroading, and, if your interests are strictly prototypical, you can go to the sub-section Prototype Railroading. If we keep fractioning things further, soon each Member will have his/her individual Forum, which kinda puts us back into isolation, each in our own basement/layout room/armchair. I think that what's here now offers enough specific areas without getting too provincial. How many of us actually visit all of the Forums here on even a semi-regular basis?

Honestly, I think you have a good point, Doc. I really was only kidding when I started this thread. I really didn't mean to stir up any s***. :eek:ops:

No problem. I probably shoulda stuck a few smilies into my post, as I just re-read it, and it does sound a bit strident. Certainly not my intention, and there's certainly nothing wrong with tossing around these ideas, either.
I was looking at it from the perspective of one who visits most of the Forums, but not necessarily all of the threads: I'd hate to think that a bunch of people whose work I enjoy would disappear into Forums that I'd not likely be attracted to due to the Forum Title, even though I'd always open their threads when they are posted in the Forums that I do frequent.

Nevermind,I withdraw the whole idea. You guys are masking it sound like a stupid idea and your right why would anybody in their right mind want to post pictures of their prototypical locomotives and rolling stock in a thread about their favorite prototype railroad anyway, oviously none of you would.

No I'm not mad I'm just giving up.

Ouch.
I'm sorry I started this now.
Maybe it should just be deleted.

No.

I think there are enough "other" resources out on the web. Seems like there are enough places even here to post info, ask questions or otherwise share interests here and not get bogged down with "SIG" stuff. Make the "others" yours. I think we're more current/topical rather than creating spaces for archival interests when there are many, many other sites to get lost in.

My 2 cents. And just who removed the ¢ symbol from my keybird???
