Evaluation, MRC Sound devices

I have recently bought two digital sound machines by MRC.

The City & Country Sound Station that has a varity of everday sounds form rain, roosters and cows, jackhammers to trafic, thunder and rain & running water to name but a few. I like to set it for the forest sound or the running brook to sleep with at night.

The other gem is the MRC Synchrony Sound for steam which as as many sound as Lionel's TMCC.

I will give you a report on that later.

They make one for Diesels I haven't bought yet.

The City & sound has stereo speaper and a wired remote.

The volume is high but at the max level there is some distortion. Most sounds like the car crash and car horn last I few seconds but several other once the key is pressed continue one. For example you can have continuance traffic then a brief car brake, horn blow and crash all with in two seconds. Everyone that has heard that get a kick out of it.

Nature sound work the same way with forest sound, bugs and rain.

I am going to test the steam sound gizzmo here in a bit.

Great I've been thinking of getting one of those with both the diesel and the steam sounds cause I run both. Hows it sound and did you have trouble syncing the sound in?

Remember...it's for fun!
I have an MRC Tech ll Sound generator 8000 that I bought a couple of years ago at a discount at my LHS out of curiosity. It has basic steam and diesel engine sounds (a "chuff" and a "burble") along with a steam whistle and a diesel horn. I used a much bigger speaker than came with the unit to get a good low toned burble. It sychronizes automatically with your powerpack throttle. The burble isn't the most convincing sound but its not bad. I think the chuff is better. The steam whistle sounds good to me but the diesel horn isn't particularly good in my opinion. But, I got it cheap. :)

This is steam only. it has whistle, shovel, water, break, bell, air, hiss, firebox, flange, sand & couple.
The chuff rate is varible and works with DC and DCC.

LET ME THINK.... YOU MAY FIND THAT INFO POSTED ON AN OTHER FORUM. I AM SURE IT IS.

IT ESCAPES ME AT THE MOMENT.

Gee, thanks for the answer. Your kindness and hospitality are unmeasurable Gil. Is this how you treat new members to this forum? Maybe I just caught you on a bad day. But really, why so hostile?

I have tried a couple of the MRC decoders and found them to be less than I had expected. I am using sound traxx in all my locos. I coud not get the MRC Brilliance to sync with loco. and could not get a smooth start. Less expensive one had no volume control.

That's just Gil's way of saying "he's working on it" and as soon as he finds (Remembers) what forum he saw the information, he'll post a link :D :D

BY JOSH IF I HAD HALF A MIND.....I think I could. What I detailed above will have to do. Can't remember where I have been. Can't recall here at home either.

Anyone seen my car keys and wallet?

I will hook it up now and give it a try.
