Some empty 20' container chassis, a Ford LN 9000 is on it's way to pic up that OVERNITE trans. 28' pup trailer. Meanwhile, a BNSF Dash 8-40B spots some BNSF coal porters being loaded up my the Western Coal Flood Loader.

This is the side of the Magic Pan Backery that faces the mainline and road. You can see some construction going on. The piping was getting a lil old and rusty so it was time for some new stuff. Thats the BNSF Dash 8-40B that is spotting those coalporters in the pic above.

Close-up of a Mack CH 613 pulling a J.B. Hunt 53' Container and chassis. This can is owned by a private company so no J.B. Hunt name on the side of this truck. You can see another J.B. Hunt truck in the backround at the docks being unloaded.

Hoffa Cement Complex

Here is a quick shot of the whole complex. I have since finished the Bulk Transfer Conveyor and the small distributing building in the backround by the silos.

Hoffa_Cement_Complex_Overview.jpg

You can see the Bulk Transfer Conveyor (by the green cab pulling the 53' Container) and the front loader ready for some work. There is also a string of open hoppers full of sand ready to be procesed through the conveyor and offloaded into stock piles. I still need to put a chain-link fence around the perimeter. Once I do that, I will be adding a few more details like stock piles over by the bulk transfer conveyor (were all that empty space it in the left center side of the pic.

Oil Refinery

Here are some pics of my started Oil Refinery. I still need to get the Walthers Refinery and put it in. There will also be some tanks in the backround (tanks will be cut in half so they fit up against the wall, along with LOTS of piping.

Tank Truck Loading Rack. A wooden fence with a gate is at the front of the refinery which will probly end up being replaced with a chain-link fence. That small building is a guard gate for the refinery and Flour Mill (not pictured)

Road Extention

Here are some pics of a road that I worked on for about 3 hours yesterday

Overhead.jpg

An Overhead shot of the grade crossing

Overhead_2.jpg

The surrounding areas around the road (white space) are not done yet and those red lines will be tracks for the Glacier Gravel Company sidings.

Overhead_3.jpg

The 2 tracks are the mainline and that is a CNW Dash 9 in the lower right corner. I added ballast to the tracks and on the side next to the road made a small rock embankment that I think turned out pretty cool. I also made a path to the Tank Truck Loading Rack and added some small construction details to the side of the road.

Overhead_4.jpg

You can see the gaurd gate is in it's final postion glued down ontop of the road. A ROADWAY Mack with a 28' pup trailer and dolly are at the gaurd gate awaiting approval to enter the yard. The guard gate will have chain-link fence surrounding it. In the lower right to center of the pic is the small creek.

Cool Shot of 2 Mack CH 603 Cabs, the one on the right is pulling a lowboy trailer and the one on the left is pulling a 36' gravel trailer. The rock embankment leading up the tracks is in the lower part of the pic and the left over constrcution equipment is by the wood fence.

Shot at the grade crossing were the road crosses the double mainline

International_4900_Dump_Truck.jpg

A Internation 4900 Dump Truck lets a passing truck go by before it makes it's way to be filled with gravel from the Glacier Gravel Company.

I think that I am going to weather the roads to, ill shoot some more pics when I do.

Man i haven't been around on the gauge in a while, only 3 times since they went and changed it... Can't say i like it.

In any event, good work! things are looking good. the Walthers Oil Refinery kit is going to be re-releases, and i'm thinking of picking up a couple when i can. I figure you might want that for your oil scene.

Nicely done!!!!!!

I'm a little late to this shindig, but what are you using for switcher power- the road units? Somehow, I envision MP15s doing lots of work here.......

Keep the pics coming, and keep up the good work.

Yeah, it would be super cool if you could get some GP15s or something of that nature in the house!

Speaking of which, i need to grab one of those one of these days for Conrail. I'm surprised that you don't have some sort of GP38-2 or something already!

It looks like you are getting stuff done. My layout work has kinda slowed down, and ive been so busy lately.

Thanks, I think my next 2 or 3 engines will be some small switchers   I really want to get a couple GP38-2's. I came close to winning a UP GP38-2 on e-bay but lost at the last sec!! ggrrrrrrrrrr lol

I think I have 18 of these 70-Ton Hart ballast cars (6 MoPac, the rest all different roads). I don't know what it is about them, but I can't pass one up on eBay or on sale...

yeah, i have an Athearn Genesis trinity grain hopper. Its beautiful, but i have no grain industries. it pretends to be plastic pellets for now with my Erie Lackawanna hopper (now that would be weird in real life...)

I was thinking of picking up some Conrail ones, and painting up those grey C32-8s. I've been having misery with decoders and HO scale people who won't stand up if you fuse them to the layout.

you preorder that oil refinery yet? i think its past the date for a garunteed delivery, but i think you can still order it.

speaking of those GP units, don't get the Athearn RTR stuff... it looks nice, but its still blue-box on the inside. i think there are some cheap P2k GP38-2s going around.

How much have you done on this layout anyway? didn't you start N-scale stuff?

I still work on this layout lol. Just not as much as I used to now since I have been working on a photo diorama and the N scale Steel Mill.

I still need to get ahold of 2 Red Wing Flower Mills, the Armstrong Electric Motors Backround Building, the Oil Refinery, and another Asphalt Plant to make mine bigger lol.
