Hello all you zealots out there in the physical. Timber here coming at you like a Nova cannon blast!

So, about me. Not a lot to tell. I'm an avid model enthusiast who's been building since the crib. I enjoy building everything from paper craft to wood and cloth to plastic and resin and metal (see Warhammer 40k and the like).

I've kind of been on a downslope lately with my life tho, resulting in a hiatus from model construction due to lack of funds. I won't go into it but suffice to say its nothing a job wouldn't cure.

I don't know how social this site is, and I assume there's a certain ediqute required. Certainly hope I don't have to post fifty billion topics before I can simply comment on one. I've known some site to be heavy handed with the banhammer for slight infractions.

I don't design models, so don't expect anything like that from me. I'm not a creator, I'm a builder. That being said I will post anything I build in the future when I can. I usually don't keep my models though. I give them away to friends and neighbors. Its about the build for me (excluding Warhammer, etc.)

Anyway, I look forward to building with you all. Hope I can contribute at least a few tricks I've picked up over the years if nothing else.

Deuces!

Hello TG,

welcome to the forum!

Thank you very much for your refreshing and insightful introduction. Using different materials for models sounds very interesting. We have a member using all kinds of different things for her models and she achieves phenominal results (her nick is cylongirl ;) ). Just feel free to take a look around, read the rules and policies and most of all:

Have fun and enjoy! :)

Cheers

RF

P.S.: Don't worry about how things are going here at Zealot. We are a very happy "little" forum. Our members are from all over the world, happy to share their tips and tricks in modeling. There are no fights (which we are very proud of). This makes it a very lovely place to be. Just find out for yourself! :)

P.P.S.: You may post in anybody's threads immediately but please don't respond to dead threads (threads which haven't got any new posts in the last three months). And please use our picture upload service (this makes sure that your precious pictures will not vanish over the course of the years). ;)

Hello TimberGhost,

Welcome to Zealot. You have come to the right place for Warhammer40K. We have many members who are into W40K. So you should have no (or very little) problems finding someone to help you with any problems that you may have.

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, need help or advice. Please feel free to ask and we will do what we can to help you (or at least point you in the right direction).

Once again, welcome aboard. I hope that you enjoy yourself here. I look forward to seeing your work.

I don't really have problems with 40k modeling save for flesh painting. Im really bad at that but I think that's just a practice problem.

Still, glad to have the resource should the need arise.

Great to have you aboard TimberGhost. Without model builders, designs would be useless. You are most welcome here. Welcome to Zealot!! The lack of funds situation is universal, so you are in good company! :)

Its far too universal if you ask me. I'm at the point where I can barely afford a bus pass to get to the library.

Just remember, there is nothing wrong with being "only a builder". I am just a builder myself (granted, I test build for a few different designers, but I am am still just a builder). So do not worry about not being a designer.
So have fun, enjoy yourself.

I can only agree with you. It's hard, I am disabled, and collect from no one. By trying to work, I lost all Social Security, paid 46 years into the system, and didn't get a dime out of it. It can be hard. We are extremely personable and social here, and you are now part of this forum, you will find many friends here, I guarantee it. You have one in me already. ;)
