Do you know what that means? If there are any new paper models of the future new planetary space rockets, they will be much easier to build because they will need fewer parts. It is good to see that the designers have a soft spot for us modelers and save us much building time! :D ;)
by the looks of that new engine, still got a lot of parts to fold-roll-spindle and mutilate

From greater than 5000 parts to less than 100 parts!! These could be be made in Space, on a Space station. Making the possibility of a really large space craft being produced in space, that will have launch/exploration/defensive vehicles. This could carry mining craft, their ore, and become a real "Spaceship". :)

here i jumped ahead and made the mounting for the engines. wasn't happy with the flimsyness and did a little beefing up. i took a 2 MM wide( i'm getting teck here, never did learn the metric system ) strip and scored it inhalf, folded it and ran it through . did the same for the other sides ( shorter of course).

You can never go wrong with beefing parts like this off. If it even looks weak, over time, it will absorbe moisture, dry out, and if not strong enough, it will warp. Great job! :)

Oh my Lord, that is awesome!!

My cousin (more like brother) built the ESTES version of this. We decided to go with over sized motors. It went up, I mean really up there, and each time a stage separated, the prevailing wing would pull it out long Island Sound. I remember seeing what looked like the capsule blowing off, but it did not seem to fall. Long and short of it, I never saw that any part of that rocket again!! We were jumping up and down, people were clapping., then I got on my bicycle and said "No more of these things". I built many space shuttles and those worked great with the shuttle coming down hard, but never on the nose.

Excellent built. Fantastic, really! :)

did that once with a old V2 model . stuffed it full of tissue's and glued a motor in it, waited until 8:00 at nite to launch. up it went, and then POOFFFFF.. nice flash in the sky..

i've been following the plans and some sections just didn't match up. or my cutting was off.( more like it). if i ever do it again ( and who knows, i might) i'll try to roll it as one whole section instead of 3 or 4 small ones. this has been a joy to work on. and it being only my third one. i took a big step to do this one, and i'm learning a lot of tricks doing it. the wife doesn't complain about the glue or paint smells as with the plastic models. ( doesn't help her breathing, having COPD and on home O2 all the time). this i can do right on the kitchen table.man cave not in the works. i want to thank all who have commented and gave tips. this SITE has been very good and open to people just starting this hobby or have been into for years.
again, thanks to all, and i'll post more pic's when i get more done.

ok, here we go. got the last sections done. this was a blast(pun) to build and i still don't know where she's gonna go yet. had a heck of a time makine the nozzles for the RCT's but i got them made. the escape tower didn't want to fit till i removed the 4 parts on the nose of the capsule, the it sat down on it better. last pic of everything standing

Have you thought about maybe cutting off the flag panel section and replacing it with a "blank" panel, and insert a flag panel into the section below? I think if you print a replacement flag panel on thinner paper you could glue it over and no one would notice...?

i did a goof on 1 wall section, flag up too high and all was glued when i noticed it. some close up of engines
