There was a site out on the interweb called MegaMoonLiner which had two US destroyers which could be downloaded for free. My son wants to build a ship and these are not so simple as to look like toys but not so difficult as to frustrate him. I failed to download them while I had the chance and now they are gone. They indicate they are offered out there somewhere but are not too specific as to where. Does anyone know were I could get them?

Those are them. He has reworked them, much better too I asked him if he wished for us to host them, but he makes the readily available, so that's cool. You can download them from that page, the .pdf is on the upper right hand corner of the page. He has made Tons of buses! :)

Responding to weisswurst-sama, those models used to be hosted on an image file site which went under; that's why you no longer could obtain them, so I am sorry for that inconvenience.

I have plans to remake them to their correct length, so if you want to wait just a few weeks until I reset them or want them as-is anyway, please feel free to contact me anytime.

As for the link given by Revell-Fan-sama and also replying to zathros-senpai, that link leads to the Japanese SDF 「SHIRANE」 Class DDH144 「KURAMA」, and was made completely from scratch.

One another warship you can obtain from me that might interest you all may be the Imperial Japanese Navy repair ship 「AKASHI」.

My son is really into WWII and is really eager to build the two American US Destroyers. I think they were the USS Clemson and the USS Brooks. I think he might like the Akashi as well so when you get done remaking them, please let me know so I could get them for him. He is working on a simple but nice looking German Tank and that should keep him busy for a week or two. I really appreciate you making these models available. My son really likes them, as do I. As he makes your Destroyer, I might give the Japanese repair ship a try. When we finish I will send you pictures of the finished Ships. Thanks again.

Thank You MegamoonLiner, and we're here for you if you need us to host anything, even if it is just for a short time. ;)

For the AKASHI, I will put all you need on a .ZIP file and host it on the 「Resources」 separator, so check over there as soon as you read this message.
And you were correct, USS DD186 「CLEMSON」 and USS DD232 「BROOKS」.
One another that you may like and will also be available on the 「Resources」 page is the Imperial Japanese Navy Aircraft Carrier 「HOUSHOU」, the first purpose-built aircraft carrier in the world.
Thank You MegamoonLiner, and we're here for you if you need us to host anything, even if it is just for a short time. ;)
Anything I have hosted here is for permanent access, normally. (^^)

I also forgot to mention, the two models have the new logo of my studio, which will change in both name and obviously logo design; from now on, the studio will produce models with the 「柏崎紙模型スタジオ」 (Kashiwazaki Paper Model Studio) name.

So I hope you do not get the idea you are actually taking something I did not designed myself. xD

Thank you Kashiwazaki. I downloaded the Akashi but I am going to wait until you have the Destroyers updated so I can build the Akashi at the same time my son builds one of the destroyers. I wish there were more ships like this. Most have so many parts I know my son would never even try to build one. Thank you again. I will send you pictures when we are done.

For easy ships close to what you wish, the Japan Maritime Self-Defence Forces website has some pretty awesome ships, like the HYUUGA, KONGOU, amphibious transports and even the new ATECS destroyer AKIZUKI.

Some may look heavily detailed, but believe me, they are still easy to make. (^^)

Kashiwazaki (formerly Megamoonliner) has informed me that if anyone wishes anything of his they cannot find here, as he uploads much of his work here, to send him a P.M., and he will make arrangements with you to get the model you are looking for. I have much respect for Kashiwazaki as he has always been so generous with his work, and makes models of objects that other people aren't covering..

I Thank Kashiwazaki for updating us that he is still around.

Kashiwazaki, Please put an active link in your signature for your Paper Model Studio !! :)

I tried that through an image, but it won't appear, perhaps because there may be something on your control panel that either limitates the number of characters or disallows images of a certain size.

Try looking through the definitions and tell me how should I do it. (^^)

Use the "Upload a File" in the lower right hand corner of the box you are typing in. You can post HUGE pictures here, 10 pictures per post and as many posts as you need. They can be in any common format, you do not need for a picture to wait to finish loading before loading the next. When finished, select weather you want a "Thumbnail" or full size picture. If you select thumbnail, the page will load faster, and clicking on thumbnail will make the picture full size. Any questions, just keep asking! ;)

I meant the signature box doesn't seem to「like」pictures in it, I tried uploading my studio's banner where you can click on and be taken to my site.
It's likely that something was set up there, like a character or image size limitation.
Check the setup panel to see if any of these are activated.

@Kashiwazaki : I have found a way to do it: Just add the image of your banner using the picture upload / link function. Then select the image with the mouse (click left beside the inserted image, keep pressing the left mouse button and drag the cursor toward the upper right corner of the picture); the picture looks blueish now. Then click the "insert link" button, add the link to your site and hit "OK". That should work. :)

I have just described how to add a link to a picture in the signature. The result will be a clickable picture which takes you to the linked site. ;)
