I seldom build the same thing twice. I know the Thunder is your specialty. Does it get easier with repetition?
It does get easier when you build a model again. Not only that, but it you are interested in greebling it, you can figure out how you want to do it and to what degree you want to greeble it. That is why I have built the Thunder fighter so many times.

Just to be "that guy", 12 inch figures are 1:6 scale, not 1:16. And I would love to see a 1:6 TF build. I had one of the pages printed on a plotter, I think that the files would support it.
I originally typed 1/6th scale but the website dropped the / for some reason. 1/6th for 12 inch figures but I found out that the Buck Rogers figure is 8 inches tall 1/9th scale listed. I usually work with 6 inch figures which is 1/12 scale.

That's interesting, scan it, put it up and we can vector copy it and everyone could have one! (Unless you're worried about copyright, justly so). ;)

I think I created it in Adobe Illustrator and saved it as a pdf. I'll look for it.

Here is the front canopy and front anchor piece.
As you can see, I have placed a nameplate on the front canopy (with the name of a close friend, since it is made for her).

I have detailed the chronometer. I raised the case while recessing the face. I also raised the buttons as well.

I have also finished it as well!
Time for a cup of coffee!:Coffee:

This is perfect. I can imagine someone who has never scene paper crafting coming along and seeing this would literally make theirs heads pop open and a dust cloud appear!! This is unfrakking believable.. It's symmetry makes a statement as to what that word implies, as it is the most balanced symmetric beautiful examples of these I have see yet, and the time span you have built it in also makes me think your like "Dr. Manhattan", 6''4" Blue skinned and putting these together with pure mental though. Which makes the understanding that you made each piece one by one almost incomprehensible. :)

Thank you! The Thunder Fighter has always been my favorite SCI-FI Fighter (other than the Colonial Viper). So I am glad that there are models of the plane available and that I was (and am) part of the development of the project as whole. As for the "Dr. Manhattan" reference, thank you for the compliment (Although, I am 6'6" ;))
It is interesting that you someone never seeing paper models, as I am going to the IPMS meeting in Salem, OR. Friday night. I will be bringing the Thunder Fighter to show off. The members have never heard of or seen paper models. So the reactions are going to be interesting to see. I know that I will be inundated with a plethora of questions. Needless to say, I am looking forward to it.
I am glad that you have enjoyed this thread! :toast::Drinks:

Bring a video camera, you may have to post it on you tube. I have an account the reactions can be posted on. :)

I think you have really outdone yourself this time, it looks amazing, like someone could jump in it and take off, so fantastic!
