Searched the forum and could not believe that there is no building thread for this beautiful model, which I found at papercraftsquare.com.

The model consists of 4 pages and a short but detailed instruction page.

Hope my version will be as good as the shown one.

Looks great starbuck! I didn't know that there was a different version out. I only know about the Webdude's version. This one looks like it has a little more details to it. His doesn't have the "95" on the side, and is in a zip file containing a PDO file.

Thank you for the heads up! I will check it out and add it to my collection. Keeping an eye on your build thread.;):)

That is surprisingly awesome! I still don't know why Pepakura cannot make round objects, like wheels, though this is not a reflection of your build. Very nice! ;)

Hi together,
I also have the .pdo version - and I was not sure which one to make. The "95" on side convinced me to make the .pdf version of Wong Hidayat.

My version (.pdf) has the problem with the not round objects - the .pdo version has round objects. - Don´t know whether they have the same size. If so, you could take best parts of 2 versions - maybe a future project.

And my next steps:

Just print the *.pdo as *.pdf, convert the result to *.png and edit / rescale the parts according to your needs. Print them and you are done. ;)

Hey that looks GREAT! Looks like your almost ready to bring it all together. By the way after I downloaded this model I couldn't resist his Herbie model. Thanks again starbuck.:)

Thanks for that info. I wonder if that is true for all the radii, like the wheel arches, etc. That has been one reason I never messed with .PDO's. Also, I have to much time vested into Rhino, and since I design real parts with it, it's better to learn one program well. I am amazed at the figure that are made with Pepakura. :)

@Blake, could you post a link to the Herbi model? ;)

The execution of the fenders on that Beetle are some of the best I've seen. The only way they could be done better would be with wet forming, and that would take a lot of effort.

Also, that site is new to me, THANKS!! ;)

Oh, yesterdays second post was not delivered.
But now.....

The tyres are those from the front of the car.
The other parts where rather small to assamble - and to be honest i did not use the glueing tabs of those small parts.
Normally I prefer glueing tabs, but not if the parts are too small.

Edit: Now it worked....;)
Edit II: The hook: I will cut a hole in it to be able to insert the rope.

Nice StarBuck! Looking worthy of a collectable that my son would love! Wait, that does reduce it's lifespan to 4 hours.... :) Yes, he got Voyager ....

If you re-enforce these models with thick cardboard, even layered up, they can last really long. I made an ESKA Ekranoplan ( Ground effect plane/boat, there's one in the RESOURCE section) model for my son that he played with for years. The engine, which I still have only lasted a day or two, then fell off, but the hulk of the thing is still around here, and even being almost 16, he doesn't want to toss it. When you look through your kids junk drawers of boxes, you see the odd and not so odd things they hold onto, that defines their childhood memories. Hopefully not to many toy corpses with no limbs or heads. :)

Also with a reinforcement it won´t survive the first crash, I suppose.

So last parts and final assembly.

Summary:
nice and easy model -
good instruction in form of reference photos with parts numbered
